Position Summary & Responsibilities:
This role can be based in either the Salt Lake City, UT or Durham, NC areas and cannot be fully remote. Some domestic and international travel is required.
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as the Vice President of Communication for North America. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for developing, leading, and executing integrated communication strategies for North America that align with our Corporate mid-term and long term ambition while driving stakeholder engagement across the region. This role will oversee both internal and external communications for the Region, ensuring consistency in brand voice, thought leadership, and reputation management. This role, reporting to the SVP, Corporate Communications, supervises, mentors, and leads a team responsible for executing this strategy in the core areas of Thought leadership, Press Relations, Internal Communications, web and social media, events, etc.
Strategic LeadershipDevelop and execute an integrated communication strategy for North America that is in line with corporate strategy while supporting local supports business objectives that shape, protect and grow the Brand in North America Serve as a member of Corporate Communication Leadership team, acting as key business partner and member of the North America Leadership on all communication-related matters, including crisis communication and corporate positioning.Ensure alignment across North American communication initiatives and between region and global strategies.External Communication & Reputation Management Oversee media relations, including cultivating strong relationships with journalists, analysts, and other influencers.Lead campaigns to enhance brand awareness including corporate announcements and thought leadership.Strategic management and oversite on local website and social media management, including editorial strategy, social listening, analytics, etc. Lead issues and crisis management for the region, ensuring the company responds effectively and proactively to challenges.Monitor public sentiment and industry trends to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.Internal CommunicationPartner with Human Resources to support team member engagement, change management, culture-building, and employee retention initiatives through transparent and compelling internal communication strategies.Ensure effective cascading and alignment between Global efforts, regional leadership, and employees, maintaining alignment on goals and key messagesTeam Development and Budget ManagementBuild, lead, and mentor a high-performing communications team, including ability to drive 3rd party groups to deliver increased services of value to the organization.Oversee regional communication budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.Education, Skills, & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Business Communications, or related field, with 10+ years of experience in Corporate Communications, experience in healthcare is preferred.Expertise in media relations, crisis communication, and brand positioning.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, Strong ability in writing content such as press releases, news statements, talking points and other corporate communications.Experience in development and execution of a corporate communication plan in terms of crisis communications, merger & acquisitions and other specific eventsExpert knowledge of how to strategically gain brand awareness and drive business activity through effective PR and other innovative communications techniquesProven experience managing large-scale communication strategies across North America.Expert corporate communication management (including demonstrated knowledge of online/web communication), editorial and project management expertiseKnowledge of marketing tools, techniques and ability processes to develop and deploy successfullyKnowledge of quality management systems and business process creationKey Competencies:
