Overview
The VP, Data Management will oversee, drive and support our data warehousing function. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, data engineering, and a passion for optimizing data processes. You will lead the development and maintenance of our multi-use data management, ensuring that it supports analytical and reporting needs across the organization.
Foundational to the position is leadership for data repositories, tools, processes, governance, and core metrics that are used for reporting, analytics, and research across the organization. We are looking for the experience to co-create vision and strategy that enables the wider enterprise and technology organization, and the ability to instill confidence in others. This position includes responsibility for production support and collaboration with business-line teams involved in analytics and reporting functions. This position reports to the Chief Business Operations Officer. The Vice President, Data Management should embody CINQCARE's core values, including Trusted, Empathetic, Committed, Humble, Creative, and Community Minded.
This position is based in our Washington, D.C. office and will be required to be in the office on a hybrid schedule.
Primary Responsibilities
The VP, Data Management will have the following responsibilities:
Develop scorecards, SLAs, and KPIs together with key stakeholders and other technology partners to evaluate success, determine areas for improvement, and identify areas of opportunity.Optimize ETL processes for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading. Secure PHI and PII data.Implement best practices for data governance, quality, and security within the data management.Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.Create and maintain documentation for data architecture, processes, and workflows.Ensure compliance with internal procedures and external legal requirements. Develop and manage budgets and resourcesTrain and mentor team members on the Company’s database technologies and data warehousing best practices.Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in data technologies, particularly related to healthcare analytics.
General Duties
The VP, Data Management will also have the following duties:
Technical Leadership: The VP, Data Management will lead the design, development, and maintenance of the data Management using appropriate technologies (e.g. DataBricks, Snowflake).Strategy: The VP, Data Management will develop data strategy and roadmaps together with internal stakeholders, vendors and other technology partners.Collaboration: The VP, Data Management will collaborate with businesses to gather requirements and translate them into effective data design solutions.Knowledge: The VP, Data Management will serve as a subject matter expert in healthcare data, leveraging in-depth knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and advanced data storage solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with APIs developed using programming languages like Java, Scala, or Python.Culture: The VP, Data Management is accountable for creating a productive, collaborative, safe and inclusive work environment for the Data team and as part of the larger Company.Qualifications
The VP, Data Management should have the following qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's in Computer Science/Engineering or similar field. Master’s Degree or equivalent experience related to systems design, data analytics, and enterprise-wide collaboration preferred.
Experience and Skills:
10+ years experience with IT systems (ERP, data management, reporting)5+ years leadership experience including hiring and leading a team of at least 5 SME.Highly developed research and analysis skills with experience in a similar role within the healthcare industry.Solid understanding of healthcare-related data sets and privacy regulations.Strong expertise and knowledge in data management, data quality, data governance, and data architecture principles.Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Independent and strategic problem solver; accountable for and skilled in exercising sound judgment.Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to collaborate across divisions to implement processes and achieve results. Track record of building and maintaining productive relationships with multiple stakeholders.Demonstrated success in engaging culturally diverse colleagues and stakeholders.Demonstrated success engaging historically underrepresented communities, constituents, and partners a plus. Ties to culturally diverse affinity groups, professional organizations, or related associations are a plus.Validated attention to detail as well as effective time management abilities.Passion for continuous learning and staying ahead of the curve in the data analytics field.Familiarity with analytic and visualization technologies a plus (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, etc.).Ability to undertake domestic travel up to 20% of the year.The working environment and physical requirements of the job include:
In-office work (minimum three days per week) is performed indoors in a traditional office setting with conditioned air, artificial light, and an open workspace.
In this position you will need an to communicate with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers in person and over devices, sometimes with people who are agitated. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods is common. Must be able to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Lifting of up to 10 lbs. occasionally may be required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and FAX machines. Good reasoning ability is important. Able to understand and utilize management reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business.
