VP of Finance

Schedule: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm

Vinfen is a large human services organization with over 3,000 employees. We are experiencing high growth both in our core programs and outpatient CBHC clinic services, and we are looking for an experienced VP of Finance and Revenue Operations that wants to join our team of dynamic, mission driven professionals.

You may have worked in both for-profit and non-profit environments and have seen a variety of problems related to financial operations that you helped solve. You can drive change on your own, as well as collaborate across departments to achieve organizational goals. You are comfortable directing others as well as producing original work by rolling up your sleeves when necessary

The VP of Finance is a member of Vinfen's Senior Leadership Team, representing the Finance department at senior operational management meetings and leading several high-profile cross-organizational initiatives. The VP of Finance works closely with Vinfen's Executive Team and may prepare materials and present them to Vinfen's Board of Directors and Board committees.

The VP of Finance responsibilities include FP&A and the related modeling, budget and forecasting processes, as well as Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) including billing and collections. This encompasses responsibility for the related IT systems, as well as the related internal and external reporting. They ensure strong individual and team performance as well as operational efficiency and achievement of departmental and organizational goals. He or she must possess a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as having accumulated significant experience with FP&A and financial modeling principles, tools and processes.

Prior healthcare and/or health and human services experience is strongly preferred, including leading complex financial planning and analysis processes, state contract billing and management, and third-party (insurance) billing and collections.

The Vice President of Finance:

Leads the FP&A Team and related resources in the strategy development, planning and execution of the annual budget cycle, monthly financial reporting, monthly financial reviews and variance analysis and periodic forecasting. Continuously assesses and evolves financial reporting to ensure reporting packages deliver articulate and actionable insights. Manages the leaders of the revenue cycle teams in the execution of all operational activities including all facets of billing, collections and relevant reporting. This includes management of the related information systems (e.g., electronic health records and accounts receivables subsidiary ledgers and agings). Actively leads cash collection activities and denials management. Collaborates with and engages directors to identify issues and develops action plans to improve billing procedures and collections. Continues the development and establishment of best practices for regular receivables review, analysis, and collection processes for improvement. Manages the leaders of all operational areas of the Finance Department described above; defines individual staff responsibilities, metrics and measurements, and performance goals; holds staff responsible for meeting departmental and organizational goals. Mentors and ensures the strong individual performance of direct reports; performs coaching, employs employment improvement plans, as needed. Evaluates financial leadership team tools and methods to improve departmental effectiveness; rolls out tools and training on tools; ensures adoption. Evaluate processes; plans and successfully implements process improvements; measures improvement and assesses any obstacles; recommends and implements refinements. Suggests and oversees implementation and expanded utilization of financial software applications to improve efficiency in the general ledger, budgeting, financial planning, financial reporting, forecasting, revenue, payroll, purchasing, and other related areas. Continues the refinement and maintenance of the cash forecasting process and data. Participates in acquisition initiatives, including due diligence and plans for integration of systems and personnel. Acts as a financial resource for non-financial departments. Acts as backup to the Chief Financial Officer to support overflow activities, including engaging in external/industry work groups and committees. Perform other duties, as assigned. Expected Skills: Management-level experience in a variety of finance disciplines, including budgeting, FP&A, financial modeling, forecasting and long-range planning, and revenue cycle and accounts receivable management is required. Significant prior health and human services or healthcare provider experience is highly preferred. Significant experience with Financial Planning and Analysis principles, methods and processes required. Experience utilizing automated financial planning tools such as Workday/DataRails/LimeLight/Oracle Hyperion/Essbase required Significant direct experience with the revenue cycle, collections, and third-party/insurance billing and collections in an insurance/healthcare/behavioral health environment required. Experience with mergers and acquisitions and integration of finance activities valuable. Experience in audit, taxation, risk management and treasury valuable. Knowledge of non-profit accounting and reporting principles and practices are important with for-profit knowledge a plus. Experience with implementing and managing financial processes and systems is important. Excellent management and employee development skills.
