Job Title: VP OF INFRASTRUCTURE & OPS (This position is Hybrid working 3 Days a week in the Denton, Texas Support Center)

Essential Functions 
Responsible for designing and managing the infrastructure architecture and drives architecture decisions, design, delivery and management of critical reliability, scalable business systems platform. Also manages and grows the Operations team and defines best-execution standards and SLA’s to meet the corporation’s needs, develop and implement plans for expansion and growth, manages delivery of 24X7 services, and manages the measurement and reporting for systems availability, performance and volume, both in business and IT terms. The Vice President of Infrastructure & Operations is the key liaison between IT applications and engineering teams and will need to have a global perspective to infrastructure and support.

Primary Duties

30% Leads the Operations team in major projects and initiatives (expand our Infrastructure, Business Continuity, Sarbanes-Oxley, and PCI company metrics, etc.) Develops long-term infrastructure strategies and tactics that meet needs for innovation, quality and cost. Focuses on outsourcing operations. Coordinates and implements contingency planning and disaster recovery plans for critical systems. Interfaces with Executive staff to ensure effective communications of project status and major initiatives. Provides ongoing technical and leadership expertise in supporting the environment’s growth and scalability initiatives. 20% Manages a team of 90+ reports tasked with providing IT support to the corporate community. Performs management and administrative functions as required to ensure proper development and career guidance for direct reports. Defines and executes a training strategy to ensure all team members are properly trained and prepared to support the corporate storage and data backup environments. Provides daily direction and mentoring to team members and technical leaders. 20% Ensures storage and data backup environment is scalable, highly available and reliable to support various growth initiatives. Utilizes monitoring and performance measuring tools to improve storage and data backup environment. 15% Provides high-level vendor management and vendor selection guidance for projects. 15% Collaboratively works with various functional units to improve Service quality and deliver process improvements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science. 8-10 years’ experience in managing an IT support team with very strong focus on critical data center services delivery. Minimum of 10-15 years of proven success in technical Engineering/IT Infrastructure roles in a large SAN storage and I Series environment. Minimum of 5 years of direct hands on data center management experience.

Competencies / Attributes

Specific expertise in the design and build out of physical data center sites in an on-going, critical delivery business is a must. Formal process design and implementation experience. Experience in implementing ITIL principles Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical decision making skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to relate to people at all levels in the Organization. Demonstrated experience in managing engineering based support teams within a Fortune 500 company. Solid understanding and experience in implementing performance monitoring and metrics gathering tools.

Working Conditions /Physical Requirements

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
