Job Description:
* Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the company's goals and project requirements.
* Oversee engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring they meet specifications, quality standards, and deadlines.
* Lead in a matrix organization where engineering teams have a dotted line reporting structure to the "CEO of the project" (project manager).
* Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to establish project priorities, budgets, and timelines.
* Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
* Work with HR to administer the department"s performance management program, conducting performance reviews and implementing correction action plans as needed.
* Ensure engineering practices comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
* Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and documentation.
* Apply your knowledge and experience to support team members in developing technical solutions to solve engineering challenges.
* Drive innovation in product design and manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
* Identify and implement best practices for engineering processes and methodologies.
* Develop and manage an engineering resource plan, ensuring allocation of team members by project, in alignment with the priorities and objectives of the business.
* Work with company leaders to plan and maintain engineering staffing levels in alignment with forecasted growth in the business.
* Evaluate and procure necessary tools, technologies, and equipment to support engineering initiatives.
* Develop and manage the engineering department budget.
* Serve as a key liaison between engineering, procurement, and other departments to facilitate communication and collaboration.
* Present engineering updates and project statuses to executive leadership and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
* MBA or Masters Degree in Engineering discipline
* Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience
* Revit Experience ​
* Strong people management/leadership experience (This person will have 2-3 direct reports)
* Must come from the material handling industry (5+ years working in the Freight & Parcel Industry and/or 5+ years working in Distribution & Fulfilment.)10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
* Must have large scale project experience with a strong technical background working in Inventor/Solidworks
