As a VP of Sales at Signature Global Logistics, you will play a pivotal role in our growth strategy by building and leading a high-performing business development team that will secure profitable business relationships with new customers in the Dallas, Texas Market! You will be responsible for maximizing our market exposure and spearheading sales initiatives to drive our success.

Key Responsibilities:


·        Market Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify target groups and new business opportunities. Develop and implement effective marketing initiatives to reach these targets.

·        New Business Acquisition: Identify, pursue, and acquire profitable business relationships with new customers, ensuring maximum exposure for Signature Global Logistics among targeted prospects.

·        Lead Generation & Proposal Preparation: Develop leads, conduct pre-proposal visitations, and assist technical staff with proposal preparation to secure new business.

·        Negotiation & Sales: Lead negotiations to obtain new customers and assist business development consultants in complex negotiations to secure critical sales.

·        Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, hire, and provide coaching and development to business development staff. Lead the sales team to establish relationships with targeted prospects in a geographical area, by product category, or industry group.

·        Operational Planning: Plan and direct new business development operations, overseeing sales revenue generation, profit, and expense objectives.

·        Sales Strategy & Budgeting: Develop sales plans and budgets for achieving sales goals within a defined set of targeted accounts. Collaborate with other sales managers to address sales challenges, business observations, and prospect feedback.

·        Performance Management: Supervise a team of two or more staff, assigning work, setting completion dates, reviewing work, and managing performance in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications:


·        Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field within the logistics or transportation industry.

·        8 years’ experience in transportation, logistics, or freight forwarding sales with a strong track record of prospecting and closing sales.

·        Strong market research and analytical skills.

·        Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

·        Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing sales team.

·        Strong organizational and operational planning skills.

·        Ability to develop and manage sales plans and budgets.

·        Ability to sell a diverse suite of domestic and international products, including Export/Import Air Freight/Ocean Freight, FTL, LTL, Fulfillment, etc.

·        Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.

·        Valid driver’s license and ownership or lease of a presentable, fully maintained, and insured vehicle for business use.
