VP PATIENT CARE AND CLINICAL SERVICES
Our Company Amerita Overview Reporting to the SVP Pharmacy Operations, the Vice President of Patient Care and Clinical Services is a key member of the senior leadership team and contributes to defining and executing on the direction, strategy, execution, profitability, regulatory compliance, and operations of Amerita’s Patient Care Services. This leader drives the creation and implementation of patient care and clinical policies and procedures, ensures adoption of new features and functionality of our operating systems, monitors and drives continuous quality improvement, monitors performance towards established service metrics, and coordinates execution of corrective plans as needed. Oversees and supervises company-wide pharmacy patient care activities including field nursing, ambulatory infusion nursing (suites and clinics), physician-based nursing services, as well as internal and external nurse coordination. Responsibilities + Works with the SVP Pharmacy Operations in planning, creating, and executing the company’s strategic objectives including clinical, nursing and site of care strategies (ex. AIS/AIC) + This leader identifies, creates, and implements patient care services and clinical programs that deliver high value clinical and financial outcomes + The position supports hiring, training, and ongoing education of nursing personnel, and supports development and executing of internal audit systems/tools, quality assurance, and supply and equipment evaluation + Assists SVP in developing and executing plans in consolidating and integrating acquisitions + Sets direction and ensures that patient care services achieve budgeted revenue, EBITDA and customer service objectives + Identifies and implements process improvements and cost optimization initiatives. + Collaborates with other business units in analyzing and resolving business needs + Determines job objectives, work methods and performance standards: review performance relative to departmental objectives + Ensures that Amerita’s standard of quality, customer service and customer retention objectives are achieved + Works with SVP, Pharmacy Operations and Staff to monitor quality improvement initiatives. + Identifies, anticipates, and helps resolve customer service issues in a timely manner + Reviews and appraises work of others within the nursing and clinical services, reviews and evaluates pharmacy performance and keeps the SVP Pharmacy Operations informed of the department’s progress, issues and opportunities + Plans, organizes, and ensures adherence to Amerita pharmacy policies and procedures + Leads execution of Standard Operating Procedures + The VP Patient Care and Clinical Services works with the Legal, Compliance and Human Resources teams and leads the development and implementation of internal nursing policies, ensuring compliance with nursing policies, laws, regulations and accreditation standards + Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards + Works with SVP, Pharmacy Operations and Staff to monitor quality improvement initiatives + Establishes, monitors and improves pharmacy service and performance metrics + Determines operational risk factors and provide relevant mitigation plans + Conducts regular clinical operations reviews to identify issues and inconsistencies + Presents clinical offering solutions to stakeholders including but not limited to Trade, Marketing, Sales, Managed Care Team as well as to external clients and customers + Clinical lead for new manufacturer product and program presentations. Participate in client meetings, including pharmaceutical manufacturers and managed care as needed + Develops protocols, recommendations, and enhanced service clinical programs to support Pharma portfolio + Creates, implements and monitors workflows for enhanced Pharma programs and services + Presents and publish in industry events and publications on matters related to clinical practices, demonstration projects and clinical white papers that best reflect advances made by the business + Develops and oversee clinical resource library for internal and external publishing + Supports the implementation and ongoing support of clinical pathways + Provides guidance for clinical operational aspects of all programs + Provides oversight of all clinical decision-making aspects of all programs + Leads for new drug approval, RFPs, clinical program development/nurses, and clinical implementation of new drug launches + Leads Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and/or Corporate Clinical and Therapeutics Committee + Develops and implements nursing policies and procedures consistent with current Infusion Nurses Society and accreditation standards + Ensures that branches are compliant with all state regulations governing home nursing and nursing in infusion suites in states where Amerita operates a nursing program and/or employs nurses + Identifies and enforces best practices for branch nursing efficiency, workflow, and quality, supporting inter-branch consistency Qualifications + 10+ Years Pharmacy Experience Required, 5+ years clinical experience in Home Infusion, Sterile Compounding, Specialty and/or Specialty Infusion. + 5-7 Years management experience with significant P&L responsibility required. + Pharmacist or Nursing licensure is required. Multi-state licensure is preferred, but not required for this role. + Pharmacy or Nursing Doctorate, MBA, MHA or other advanced degree preferred. + Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Certification preferred. + Direct operational experience in a multi-pharmacy environment; bottom line responsibility with proven ability to execute the plan. + Teaching and training experience. + Conduct all matters with the highest standards of integrity and transparency. + A resourceful, action-oriented individual who possesses a strong sense of urgency and exceptional work ethic and who knows how to overcome obstacles to get things done in a timely fashion. + Exceptional organization and planning skills. + An excellent leader known for his/her ability to develop, motivate and build strong functional teams and achieve superior levels of performance.
