Kforce's client, a hugely successful 3rd generation real estate developer is searching for a VP/Senior Director of Accounting in Boston, MA to report to the CFO. The company has an excellent track record of success, and the position will interact frequently with the owners on many levels. Summary: In this role, you will have the opportunity to be an integral part of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial work environment interacting with internal and external parties. This individual will be involved in all accounting activities, including monthly/quarterly reporting, CAM reconciliations, and working alongside a third-party CPA firm. Responsibilities: * Collaborate closely with the CFO in developing and executing financial strategies aligned with organizational goals and objective * Lead, inspire and develop staff by building engagement with the property accounting team, providing feedback and growth opportunities and holding team accountable; Provide mentoring and coaching for direct reports * Secure and deploy resources effectively and efficiently * Responsible for the development and maintenance of accounting policies and the appropriate application of those policies to the Company's business activities * Collaborate with the Asset Management, Property Management, and Investment teams to develop and manage the annual budgeting process * Oversee the financial close process and all associated processes and monthly/quarterly reporting to ensure delivery of accurate and timely results to stakeholders * Oversee proper accounting treatment of complex transactions, including the accounting for joint ventures * Manage year-end financial statement (reviews/audits) process and own relationships and communication with external CPA provider * Perform detailed review of annual income and expense forms for real estate tax filings * Perform detailed review of distributions/contributions calculations
