As a VP reporting to the SVP Corporate & Supply Chain Systems, this leader will work closely with executive business leaders to deliver the end-to-end technology ecosystem for the Supply Chain business function, including partnering with peer ETP leaders. This role will contribute to the development of collaborative ways of working with Supply Chain leaders along with ETP Enterprise Architecture leads to evolve the 10-year supply chain strategy. To be successful, this individual will need to build strong relationships within the Supply Chain organization as well as ETP colleagues.

 

In this role, the leader will be the single owner of the Supply Chain technology portfolio and have responsibility for leading the ETP Supply Chain team to collectively develop strategic business relationships supporting Supply Chain functions across corporate, regions, and the states. The VP leader will also work across the team with responsibility to work with the Supply Chain organization throughout all aspects of a solution lifecycle, including intake, define, plan, deliver, maintain, and retire all SGWS Supply Chain technology solutions. Additionally, this team will partner with the business to deliver strategic capabilities that drive measurable value for SGWS or operational effectiveness to reduce costs and increase margin. This leader has the ultimate accountability for the Supply Chain technology ecosystem from concept to execution, including overall ownership of the P&L for all Supply Chain technology owned by ETP (operating and capital expenses).

 

Additional Overview

The span of control for this role includes all major components of the Supply Chain technology footprint; this includes all technology in our Supply Chain ecosystem, including Warehouse Management, Warehouse Automation, Supply Chain Planning & Management, Supplier Management & Collaboration, and Transportation.  The role is also responsible for; Business Relationship Management, Requirements Development, Solution Design, Solution implementation, Solution support, Security, and business continuity/disaster recovery. This leader will also partner closely with key ETP leaders, including the Enterprise Architecture team, to deliver an integrated architecture, the CISO to ensure our information and systems are secure, and the head of infrastructure to ensure superior service. 

 

The VP of Supply Chain Systems role requires a technology-savvy leader, command of Supply Chain business operations, and strong relationship and change management capabilities with the ability to lead a large team of internal and third-party resources for delivering and maintaining complex technology solutions. Further, this role includes oversight of complex third-party relationships that are critical to the success of the Supply Chain stack. This includes overall accountability for all technology platforms that have 80% or greater usage from our Supply Chain organization.

 

A strong ability to communicate future vision and lead teams through change is required for this role, as it is responsible for communicating decisions, priorities, and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding business requests, projects, and initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

Executive Leadership Details:

Collaborate with the Chief Information Officer (CIO), Chief Supply Chain Officer, SVP Supply Chain, SVP Enterprise Architecture, and other executive members of the organization to align technology initiatives with business objectives. Drive the implementation of SGWS-wide initiatives and represent the Supply Chain needs in the overall IT portfolio. Provide strategic guidance and input during the development of the overall IT strategy, ensuring alignment with Supply Chain objectives. Lead by example in fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Supply Chain technology team. Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on technology trends, innovations, and changes impacting the Supply Chain organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Overall accountability for the Supply Chain technology strategy (i.e., develop, implement, refine). Coordinate the Supply Chain Solution needs with the overall IT strategy. Overall accountability to Supply Chain business leaders to optimize existing platforms and co-create future technology needs. Develop a command of the Supply Chain aspects of our business. Educate the Supply Chain organization on the value of IT. Ensure all solutions developed by the IT portfolio for use by Supply Chain users have the proper change management and communications in place for successful execution. Partner with Head of Infrastructure to ensure IT delivers superior service. Responsible for ensuring disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place on all Supply Chain systems. Partner with CISO to support all cyber policy, education and proactive mitigation. Invest time to maintain knowledge of Supply Chain technology trends. Establish Partnership with SVP Enterprise Architecture and team to establish solution architecture platform roadmap and clear business owners for the Supply Chain technology stack/products. Lead a team that manages ETP’s relationships with key Supply Chain stakeholders. Lead a team that translates business needs into functional and technical requirements. Lead a team that owns the implementation, deployment, and support of all Supply Chain platforms. Engage and direct third-party partners. Coordinate with the IT Program and Governance team. Coordinate with the IT Finance team. Coordinate with IT Demand and Supply leadership. Define Key Performance Indicators for the Supply Chain Solutions group. Participate in the Annual Operating Plan cycle to develop, align, and manage the Annual Operating and Capital plan. Provide coaching and mentorship to a team of leaders within the Supply Chain Solutions group. Drive employee engagement for the Supply Chain technology team. Promote a departmental culture that aligns to the cultural aspirations of the broader SGWS organization. Serve as the single accountable leader for the following vendor relationships. Build strong relationships with strategic solution partners. Minimum Qualifications

Experience: 15+ years in a leadership role managing supply chain technology efforts, with a proven track record of delivering results.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in computer science, information systems, or business administration.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Warehouse Management, Automation, Planning & Management, and Transportation technologies, particularly with Manhattan Associates, Blue Yonder, and Roadnet/Omnitracs routing solutions.

Leadership: Experience managing and developing large teams in a matrixed work environment. Ability to collaborate effectively with executive members of an organization and drive the implementation of SGWS-wide initiatives.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
 

Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Graduate degree preferred (MBA, MIS, or equivalent curriculum).

Travel: Approximately 35% travel required.
