At FNZ, our purpose is to make wealth management more accessible, bringing easier, fairer and more inclusive solutions to people worldwide. Here in the Global Cyber & Information Security team, we are on a mission to embed cyber resilience across FNZ, protecting the platforms that support investment solutions for over 20 million people.
We are looking for a Vulnerability Management Specialist to work in support of an existing Vulnerability Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to undertake a range of vulnerability work, gaining visibility of the processes used by FNZ across infrastructure and application security in mitigating risk. The role would be well suited to an existing vulnerability specialist seeking to learn more about financial-services teams’ operations in a close-knit and friendly environment, or a junior analyst looking to take on additional responsibilities and work more closely with internal remediation teams.
You will be working with internal stakeholders to prioritise the remediation of identified vulnerabilities. This will include the daily handling of threat intelligence, used by FNZ to drive a threat-informed response to vulnerability management. You will be asked to produce both written reports and verbal briefings, highlighting the rationale for remediation prioritisation and working closely with technology partners in understanding patching processes.
You will have existing exposure to companies’ identification, prioritisation, and handling of vulnerabilities. Communication skills are vital to this role, as is the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Specific Role Responsibilities
Prioritise vulnerabilities based on multiple sources, including vulnerability identification technologies and threat intelligence
Produce written reports and provide verbal briefings to stakeholders across different regions
Conduct deep-dive analysis into how specific vulnerabilities can be exploited to understand possible mitigations and the threat to the company
Work closely with stakeholders to understand the IT estate in different regions and embed best practices for remediating vulnerabilities
Track changes to the company’s attack surface and produce relevant metrics for senior executives to capture the current risk
Suggest improvements to current processes to prevent recurrence of identified vulnerabilities
Liaise across application security and vulnerability management teams to provide a holistic view
Analyse multiple datasets to reach the root cause of issues and suggest relevant mitigations
Develop new strategies to manage the existing datasets and obtain optimal insights for the function
Experience required
Past evidence of exceptional communication skills
Past experience of analysing vulnerabilities and providing an in-depth view of the associated risk to the company beyond generic scoring mechanisms
Evidence of strong Windows vulnerability knowledge would be considered a benefit
Solid examples of building strong relationships with key internal stakeholders
Previous exposure to managing vulnerabilities, including understanding the root cause of issues
Evidence of a willingness to go beyond basic reporting to provide the most actionable data possible to remediation teams
Hands-on experience with key vulnerability management technologies
Ability to track multiple issues across regions and stakeholder sets
Exposure to regulatory and compliance requirements for vulnerability management
Knowledge of key security controls in a highly regulated environment
