We are hosting a walk-in interview event Thursday March 6, from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm for our School program at our Middletown Education Center location in Middletown, NY The interviews will be held at: Abilities First Middletown Education Center 379 Mount Hope Road Middletown, NY 10940 We are hiring immediately for our School-Age programs for the following positions: + Administrative Assistant - Full Time(Salary Range: 17.90-18.90) + Special Education Teachers – Full Time –(Salary Range: 26.65 -31.00) + Teacher Aides - Part Time/Full Time - Entry level, a great way to get started!(Salary Range: $16.55 - 17.85) Full-time positions are Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm; 32.5 hours per week, 48 weeks per year. This position follows the school calendar (September – June), with a 6-week summer program. Full-time positions are eligible for benefits which includes vacation, sick, personal, and holiday time, health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plan with employer match, employer paid life insurance, tuition reimbursement and more! Substitute and Part-Time opportunities are great for those who are seeking greater flexibility, and our temporary roles are great if you are exploring a new career or want to gain experience in our schools to see if this is right for you! Requirements + Special Education Teachers: Master's degree in Special Education with appropriate NYS Teaching Certification, or Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field, with graduate level coursework in Special Education with NYS Provisional Certification or Certificate of Qualification + Teaching Assistants: NYS TA Certification Required + Teacher Aides:High School Diploma or Equivalent. Entry level, a great way to get started! + Have the ability to push and pull students in wheelchairs, lift, bend, squat, turn in the knees, pivot and grasp with both hands (in order to properly and safely perform the techniques taught in CPR/First Aid, behavior intervention techniques, and lifting and carrying techniques), with or without a reasonable accommodation.
