As Walmart Category Advisor, you will be responsible for driving growth and profitability across assigned product categories. You will collaborate with Walmart's merchandising team to develop and execute comprehensive category strategies, optimize product placement, and enhance category performance. This includes leveraging Walmart Luminate and syndicated data to refine strategies and identify growth opportunities while integrating consumer trends and preferences into actionable plans. Your work will focus on data analysis, category performance reporting, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to drive results.
Other responsibilities:
Utilize Walmart Luminate for sales and productivity trend analysis and PK data for comprehensive market trend assessment.Create and refine store clusters using geo-demographic data to improve targeting and efficiency.Draw and optimize modulars using JDA, collaborating closely with Walmart's merchandising team on planogram development.Conduct opportunity gap analysis and identify brand gaps, leveraging qualitative data to uncover white space opportunities.Present compelling category reviews and recommendations, translating complex data into actionable insights for various audiences.Establish and track category-specific KPIs, implementing strategies to improve performance against these metrics.Prepare and present regular category performance reports with actionable recommendations to senior management.Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decisions.Collaborate with internal consumer insights teams to align category strategies with.What are your skills and experience?
Degree qualified.CPG category management experience, preferably within food and/or consumables.Experience working with Walmart is a plus.Demonstrated analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.Experience in drawing modulars using JDA.Advanced knowledge of Excel and strong technical aptitude with customer POS systems.Demonstrated expertise in consumer and category analysis, with success in category management for a national retailer.Strong written/verbal communication skills and financial acumen (understanding of PL drivers).Previous experience as a Category Manager, Consumer Insights Manager, or Category Merchant is a plus.Whilst this role is remote, you are required to be local to Bentonville, Arkansas due to travel to Walmart headquarters.
