POSITION TITLE: Inbound Associate
TITLE OF IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Assistant Manager, Receiving
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for inspecting, opening and accounting for inbound freight received into the warehouse. This position will assist with other warehouse functions, including order pulling, invoicing, shelving, and bagging and tagging inventory for shipment.
REGULAR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary Duties:
Unloads and examines incoming shipments. Notes any shortages, overages and damaged merchandise on the bill of lading.
Unpacks and examines merchandise receipts. Verifies that the items and quantities received match the packing slips. Records shortages and overages and verifies serial numbers.
Separates merchandise received by product category.
Operates powered equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe manner.
Assists with organizing and cleaning the warehouse.
Assists in taking inventory on a bi-monthly basis or as needed.
Secondary Duties:
Order pulling.
Invoicing.
Shelving.
Bags and tags inventory.
EMPLOYEES SUPERVISED:
None.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Inbound Associate must be able to work quickly and accurately. A strong attention to detail and basic math skills are required. This individual must be able to follow directions, effectively communicate with others and be able to read and write. This position requires a person to be on their feet working in a fast paced warehouse
environment throughout day.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this position, the associate is regularly required to talk and hear. The associate is frequently required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to move at a fast pace throughout the warehouse. The associate is also required to stand, climb or balance, stoop and kneel. The ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is required. Specific vision ability required include, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. Normal hearing is required.
