Job DescriptionReporting to the Director of Logistics & Scheduling, the Warehouse & Yard Specialist will be responsible for overseeing activities in the yard and assisting in the warehouse.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Yard inspection to identify any deficiencies or concerns with stored modulesTaping of modules as requiredRework tracking related activities as requiredUpdate and maintain storage maps for visual identificationOutbound shipping paperwork – retrieve BOLs and ensuring sign off by drivers, and provide instructions for any other required paperworkEnsure supplies are on hand and requisition from warehouse as requiredStorage Yards could be located at various locations (travel required)Operate forklift and other mobile equipmentPhysically receiving of all inbound materials (from plant and vendor)Assist in the warehouse picking and packing materials required for siteLoading site materials and delivering materials to siteConduct weekly cycle counts to ensure inventory system is accurate at all timesLeads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy. Regular, full-time predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role.Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent1+ years’ experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse environmentAerial Work Platforms certificate and experienceG Driver’s license1+ years' experience working in a Yard environment1+ years' experience in inventory managementEligible to work in CanadaKNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | COMPETENCIES
3+ years of experience in a yard, warehouse or manufacturing environmentMobile Equipment experienceInventory management experienceStrong problem solving, communication and organizational skillsExcellent understanding safety rules and a commitment to safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols.WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work will be conducted in a yard environment, involving exposure to machinery as well as varying weather conditions, Work may also take place in a warehouse with a controlled environment, involving exposure to machinery and noise.Travel between sites will be requiredPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and high-visibility vests will be provided and must be worn on the production floor and construction site.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push or pull loads of up to 50 pounds; physical fitness and stamina are essential.Strong balance, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.Ability to meet visual and auditory acuity requirements.Ability to stand for long periods.
