Performs a variety of scheduling and production duties in support of the Warehouse. Works as a lead role within the Warehouse to complete a wide variety of materials and equipment movement, receiving, and driving duties. Provides daily work direction/prioritization and training to other warehouse personnel.
Qualifications
Education:
· Education equivalent to graduation from high school is required. Previous experience in a distribution center within the health care industry is highly preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
· Must possess a valid C class Illinois driver’s license and must be deemed as an acceptable driver in accordance with the MHS Fleet Safety Policy (five year MVR will be required).
· In this position, one will be required to be an OSHA certified forklift operator. On site and hands on training will be provided by department leader to meet this requirement.
Experience:
· Two or more years of warehouse experience is required, with a comprehensive knowledge of warehouse functions, associated equipment, and related safety and security procedures.
· Previous experience in (or ability to) operating warehouse equipment and motorized vehicles, such as forklifts, trucks, pallet jacks correctly and safely.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Demonstrates the ability to provide training and technical expertise to other warehouse personnel.
· Demonstrates the ability to excel in detailed work assignments, lift up to 100 pounds, and stand for prolonged periods throughout the day.
· Possess good customer relations, interpersonal, and training skills.
· Demonstrates the ability to multi-task autonomously while working on multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
· Possesses intermediate math, writing, and personal computer skills. Experience with Microsoft products Word, Access, and Excel is highly preferred. Experience with materials management software is preferred.

Responsibilities Provides work direction/prioritization, training, technical expertise, and guidance to Warehouse personnel in the performance of their daily duties.Receives and answers requests from internal customers regarding furniture, equipment storage, pick-ups, and deliveries while utilizing an electronic database to input, schedule, and track this information. Determines the most efficient and cost-effective method for completing these requests.
Maintains and monitors equipment, supplies, and vehicles at proper working order and usage levels. Makes recommendations to management regarding quality, cost, usage, and replacement.
Works closely with Purchasing to remove surplus item from warehouse through Auction Mart or Hospital Sisters Mission Outreach.
Ensures the proper use, safe handling, and security of hazardous materials, equipment, and chemicals.
Assists warehouse personnel in daily work, as business needs dictate or as management directs. This includes performing any or all duties associated with any position in the warehouse. Serves as a back-up for other areas within the department, especially during times of special needs or staff absences.
May handle, transport and have access to areas with pharmaceutical medications limited to the processes of storing and transportation within the facility and off-site locations
Assists with special projects and departmental moves or reorganizations.
Responds to callback request as needed during times the warehouse is closed and CS or another department needs WH product.
