Summary of Position

The Warehouse Associate plays a crucial role in the efficient shipping and receiving of audio-visual equipment, recording capture devices, event supplies, and courseware. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage inventory, ensure accurate order fulfillment, and maintain a well-organized warehouse environment. The associate will be responsible for inspecting incoming shipments for quality and completeness, preparing outgoing shipments with precision, and collaborating with team members to support seamless logistics operations. Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety are essential for success in this role. The Warehouse Associate will contribute to the overall success of SANS operations by ensuring that all equipment and supplies are available and ready for use.

 

This is a full-time role located at the Beltsville warehouse.

 

Key Responsibilities

· Shipping and Receiving: Accurately receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments of audio-visual, asset capture, event supplies, and course materials. Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring all items are packaged securely and labeled correctly.

· Inventory Management: Document inventory of outgoing and incoming shipments and update inventory records in our management system. Conduct regular inventory counts of items stored at the Beltsville warehouse.

· Loading and Unloading Freight: Efficiently and safely load and unload freight from delivery trucks, ensuring proper handling, placement, and securement of equipment and materials to prevent damage.

· Equipment Handling: Safely handle, store, and transport various types of equipment and materials, adhering to safety protocols to prevent damage or injury.

· Order Fulfillment: Pick and pack orders according to specifications, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to customers and events.

· Quality Control: Conduct inspections on received and outgoing items to ensure quality standards are met. Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to management.

· Technical Assistance: Assist with patching hardware firmware and updating computer operating systems under the oversight of the engineering team, ensuring all equipment is up-to-date and functioning correctly.

· General Maintenance: Keep the warehouse organized and clean, following best practices for safety and efficiency.

· Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure smooth operations and effective communication. Assist with training new staff as needed.

 

Basic Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.

· Basic computer skills for inventory management.

· Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) and stand for extended periods.

· Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with audio-visual, streaming, and recording capture equipment handling and terminology.

· Experience with Mac OS and Windows operating systems

· Familiarity with inventory management software and warehouse management systems (Odoo).

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

· Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in a warehouse setting.

 

Reporting Relationships

This position reports to the Warehouse Manager and has no direct reports.

 

Work Environment

This position will report Monday to Friday to the SANS warehouse located at 12200 Baltimore Ave, Beltsville, MD

The base salary range for this position is between $50,000 and $55,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and years of experience. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
