Job Description
The Warehouse associate primary tasks include processing orders, moving, arranging, lifting, and loading storage boxes, bins, and totes. These items range in weight from 24 lbs to over 100 lbs. Employees move boxes manually and via hand carts.
ResponsibilitiesLoad boxes onto pallets and load pallets onto trucks manually and with material handling aidsLoad and shrink wrap pallets at ground level, or on cartsLift and move boxes, read labels, and process incoming and outgoing ordersLift and carry boxes weighing up to 100 lbs without assistance for prolonged periodsLoad, operate, and move hand carts, pallet jacks, and various other material handling aidsUse the proprietary computer system to track orders and determine the location of boxesOperate hand-held scannerClimb and balance on laddersWork without assistance to grip, lift, push, pull, and carry boxes including up and down inclines, stairs, and over changes in walking surface/elevationWalk, stand, kneel, squat, stoop, and bend for extended periods of timeEssential SkillsAbility to lift and carry boxes ranging in weight from 10-100 lbs on a regular basis without assistanceAbility to load and safely operate hand trucks and pallet jacks while walking on uneven and concrete surfacesAbility to move 80 - 100 boxes per hourAbility to read and write in EnglishAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with material handlingExperience using pallet jacksExperience processing ordersExperience operating hand-held scannersWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
The position requires working 5 days a week, 9 hours a day, including a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks. The work environment is a very laborious warehouse setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Port Allen, Louisiana.
