This position is a part of LSG Operations and is located in Rockford, IL.

Responsible for picking, packing and shipping protein biology products safely, accurately and efficiently in a team-oriented warehouse environment.

A Day in the Life:

Pick, pack and ship dangerous goods/hazmat, temperature sensitive and non-dangerous goods/hazmat products for domestic and international shipments.Understand and follow regulations for shipping dangerous goods/hazmat products by ground, sea and air.Accurately perform daily cycle count activitiesParticipate in safety gembas and initiativesWork safely by following all PPE requirements and safe work practicesFollow Kanban rulesApply 5S principles and sustain themFollow Standard Work, SOP’s and apply best practicesCross train to perform business critical warehouse functionsLearn and pass required Dangerous Goods/Hazmat Processing TrainingIdentify and participate in continuous improvement initiativesWork in a team environment, and promote a positive, collaborative atmosphereParticipate in tier board discussions and activitiesOperate PIT equipmentOther duties as assigned

Keys to Success:

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

Requires a minimum of 0-2 years related experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Use an RF Scanner/UnitSafely handle dry iceIntroductory-to-intermediate problem-solving ability in a team-oriented environmentBasic computer skills to interact with Shipping Software and ERP programs

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Work in multiple temperature environments, for short periods of time, on a regular basis (-20C and 4C)Operate a forklifts and aerial liftsWalking/ standing 90% of the timeMove and lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis and 50 pounds on an occasional basisAbility to work some overtime, as needed
