Your Day at Lowe's
As a warehouse Planning Team Member, you'll build a range of skills and play a crucial role in ensuring that our stores, customers, and communities receive the products they need. You will be expected to consistently perform your tasks efficiently and work with others as part of a team. In addition, all team members are expected to follow safety regulations and procedures.
Warehouse Planning Team Members work in diverse departments, each contributing to our supply chain operations. These departments include Building, Shipping, and Receiving.
Key Responsibilities
Works safely while performing tasks and using equipment (e.g., uses proper lifting techniques for handling product, warns other associates when moving into high traffic path, maintains safety zone around equipment) Responds to calls and/or emails from stores requesting information on shipments (e.g., special order sales (S.O.S) or store order express (S.O.E.)) Prepares labels for associates picking product to be shipped; prints and distributes labels Creates receiving schedule and PO packets for the receiving operations team; includes purchase orders, labels and any necessary notes regarding the inbound trailer or product utilizing the Priority Reporting and in-stock levels at stores Allocates demand to meet store needs Allocates S.O.E (warehouse/store order express) and S.O.S orders to ensure they are shipped by targeted date; checks these orders frequently Communicates to stores any inventory discrepancies for S.O.E. orders; allows stores to communicate with customer on product status Prepares shift turn-over documentation Processes non-stock demand received at facility Processes and monitors all special requests communicated through corporate team Performs basic maintenance on printers (e.g., loads labels, changes toner, removes jams) Monitors waves (i.e., OXD and picking) and communicates any concerns to Planning Supervisor Allocates and monitors Direct to Customer (DTC) and Transfer Orders Monitors onsite and offsite storage trailers for demand needs Monitors and processes idle demand daily
Minimum Qualifications
Team members may work evening, overnight, and weekend shifts, with voluntary and scheduled overtime as needed (additional pay for overtime).Physical fitness to move continuously throughout the facility, lift up to 70 pounds, and operate power equipment.Adherence to safety protocols, wearing necessary personal protective equipment.Ability to work in varying conditions, from extreme temperatures to noisy environments.Strong safety orientation and ability to work independently or within a team.
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent.Previous experience in distribution center operations or warehouse settings.Proficiency in operating power equipment (e.g., forklift, reach truck).Detail-oriented with experience in a fast-paced environment.Basic math, reading comprehension, and computer skills.Spatial reasoning for effective product positioning.
Schedule Requirements
Available to work a set schedule that may be changed by management based on the facility's needs.May be asked to work mornings, afternoons, nights, and/or weekends based on the facility's needs.
Working Conditions
Environmental factors vary by location. You may be working in both inside and outside weather conditions. Exposure to varying climates, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions, is possible. You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noises in addition to moving or shaking objects and equipment.
Lifting methods vary based on role, weight, and volume. Associates must follow guidelines, limiting single lifts to 70 pounds. Team lifts are used minimally starting at 70 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment should be used as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
