Position Description

Primary purpose:

The warehouse attendant is responsible for handling the physical receiving and shipping of material, including verification of accuracy and condition, confirming receipt of material certification, testing documents, and tracking field requests.  Activities will include handling of all materials, cycle counts, receiving, loading & unloading, packaging and other warehouse facility tasks.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Unload, count, mark and reconcile materialsMaterial quality controlOrganize yard, warehouse, shelf and pallet inventoryStage project and maintenance planned materialsPrepare materials for shipment (shrink wrapping, banding, boxing, labeling)Load materials onto truck, covered van or flatbedDeliver material to field locations as neededRun errands to assist with facility or inventory managementOperate forklifts, vehicles and equipment as requiredPerform daily preventive maintenance on forklift, vehicle and equipmentClean and maintain workspace and operating areaMaintain up-to-date safety certifications as required by Kinder Morgan (forklift certification and driving)Facilitate surplus sales and redeployments throughout Kinder MorganManage Plant’s Corporate and Bench Stock Inventory including issuing and purchasing parts and materials as needed and maintaining min/max quantitiesInteract with technicians, vendors, and corporate buyers to purchase parts and materials in a timely mannerDevelop weekly and monthly inventory reports for managementResolve problems and complex issues common to the office and technical environmentPrepare and monitor capital and/or O&M field requests into purchasing systemProperly assist with preparation /documentation and staging of field material requests in accordance with auditing requirements and according to company policy and proceduresOperate two-way radio services for field locationAssist with the research of required obsolete materialsAssist with supporting Bench stock and Point of use requirementsAssist with entering receipts into purchasing system and returning incorrect materialsAssist with tool control programMaintain a regular, dependable attendance and high level of performanceMaintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the publicOther related duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Minimum requirements:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience/specific knowledge

Stock and maintain warehouse inventoryProficiency in Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word and ExcelPerform the required and expected duties while adhering to safety policiesKnowledge of Procurement / Purchasing requirementsJob level commensurate with experience and skill set

Certifications, licenses, registrations:

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurersMust be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)

Competencies, skills, and abilities:

Ability to work with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalismAbility to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), focus attention on details, follow work rules, and adhere to work schedules requiredBasic computer skillsGood oral and written communication skillsAbility to speak and understand EnglishThe successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

Physical demands:

Ability to operate a forkliftAbility to lift as much as 20lbs, bend/stoop, kneel and climb stairs/ladders

Working conditions:

May be required to carry a company-provided cell phone/pager, and be available to respond during working and non-working hoursSome domestic travel may be required

Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities:
Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:

Forklift experienceBackground in the oil & gas industryProven knowledge of materials such as Pipe, Valves, and FittingsExperience with Lawson Inventory Control, Requisition and Procurement modulesExperience with Maximo 7 operations
