Warehouse Automation Supervisor

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of automation and conventional warehouse operations. Oversee the operation and maintenance of automated systems and equipment, including robotics. Coordinate with IT and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly. Monitor automation systems performance, understand areas of opportunity and present solutions. Reducing downtime to optimize the efficiency of systems. Coach the team to respond effectively to performance enhancement tactics within the automation system. Leverage Manhattan WMS technology to investigate operational issues. Train and engage hourly associates towards high productivity, safety, and quality performance. Develop and demonstrate effective leadership skills and tactics during day-to-day operation. Motivate associates through positive reinforcement and behavior. Promote a safety culture by example, observation feedback and associate relations. Coordinate with peer leaders to balance the workflow of the Distribution Center.  Make and support decisions that are consistent with the local union labor agreement. Walk the warehouse on a regular basis throughout the shift to ensure compliance on sanitation and quality expectations. Maintain visibility to associates in support of our Open Door Policy. Coordinate weekly associate work schedules. Maintain open communication with the Transportation Department to facilitate inbound/outbound flow of product. Coordinate with other cross functional departments (Inventory Control, Procurement, Maintenance, Sanitation, etc.).

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Associate or bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Industrial Automation or equivalent work experience. Knowledge of automation, warehousing, and business processes. Possess good supervisory skills and the ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results. Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to generate, read, and interpret computerized reports. Ability to juggle operational and administrative tasks and meet multiple deadlines. Ability to concentrate and focus while dealing with frequent interruptions. Basic computer skills required, especially experience in Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

Frequent ability to safely and efficiently lift items weighing up to 50lbs and move items weighing up to 80lbs. Stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours and is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. Able to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Potential hazards exist such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, movement of tractors and trailers, Ammonia Refrigerated System, etc. Temperatures may vary between –20 to 70 degrees. Noise levels in most areas are within acceptable tolerance ranges. Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.

The salary range is $70,000 to $100,000 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
