The Job Details: The Leadman normally performs all of the duties of a regular warehouseman.  When required or in the absence of the supervisor, the leadman will assume all duties and responsibilities of the supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

 

•      Arrive before the warehouse staff’s start time to unlock the facility and begin the distribution of the workload to the warehouse employees.

•      Remain at the facility and in control of the warehouse staff until all personnel have left in order to secure facility, set alarm and lock all doors.

•      Ensure all employees punch in and out at the prescribed times.

•      Continually monitor employees to ensure they are performing their duties as required.

•      Ensure all company house rules, safety practices, sanitation practices and company ethics are followed at all times.

•      Ensure all break and lunch periods are taken at the prescribed times and not abused.

•      Ensure all trucks are loaded in a timely manner, safely and to the driver’s satisfaction.

•      Resolve any personnel issues that may arise.

•      Communicate to the plant superintendent any warehouse issues that arise during his shift.

•      Communicate with the dock clerk, in regards to which truck is to load in each door, when drivers are to back into the door and when each driver is to be released to pull out of a door.

•      Work with the dock clerk on any appointment issues.

•      Work with the dock clerk on any driver issues.

•      Continually look for ways to improve the operation.

•      Strive to create a positive work environment

•      General supervision of all warehouse employees

•      Perform warehouse associate job duties as needed including but not limited to picking, put-aways, relocations, loading and unloading trailers.

What We Are Looking For:

Education

•      High School Diploma or GED

Experience

•      2+ years

•      Bend and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis

•      Lift up to 70lbs with assistance on an occasional basis

•      Use scanners, tablets, radio, phones, and other warehouse machinery

•      Ability to lift overhead

•      Ability to work overtime is an essential part of this position due to demand

•      Drive a registered motor vehicle to satisfy daily requirements

•      Have acceptable and / or correctable vision 

•      Work in an atmosphere range of + 50 to - 30 degrees F with a moderate noise level

•      Personal interaction and communication required to and from other people is extremely high

•      Good arithmetic and reading skills

•      Understand and follow verbal instruction, written instruction and company policies 

•      A self-starter that can work independently and coordinate with others

•      Work in a fast pace environment with the ability to manage stress and productivity guidelines

•      Follow posted security procedures at all times while in the building.

•      Participate in Safety and Educational Training.
