Position Summary (Job Description):

Provides direction and leadership to warehouse personnel regarding efficient and effective selection, storage and loading of products and/or materials per Company standards/procedures. 

Inventory Control

Safely operates all material handling equipment. 

Accurately completes all associated paper work. 

Maintains clean work area consistent with company standards.  Trains warehouse personnel in above areas as necessary. 

Assures that all QIP & Sanitation policies and procedures are followed. 

Performs all duties of warehouse functions as needed.

Responsibilities

General Responsibilities:

 

1. Prepares load plans and participates in the loading of trailers to ensure maximum cube.  Loads trailers to ensure safe, timely and accessible unloading of freight for the driver and customer.

 

2. Monitors inventory levels and keeps picking slots with correct amount of products available to order selectors. 

 

3. Responsible for routing add-ons to correct store and sequence in proper load and delivery order.  

 

4.Responsible for maintaining expected sanitation level in all of their assigned work area, to include material handling equipment, trailers and building sanitation. 

 

5. Responsible for assigning, monitoring and coordination required labor expectations vs. planned labor needs due to case volume.  Directs and assists employees in work areas.  Working knowledge required in all local and federal sanitation practices to include expectations for AIB, FDA, HACCP and customer QIP. 

 

6. Possesses basic knowledge of safety standards, requiring enforcement in relation to OSHA/Company Policies and common safety practices.  Have comprehensive knowledge and ability to perform all job functions relating to QCD Warehousing and order selection processes.  Have basic knowledge of the customer’s business and related expectations to the specific job function.  Understand reports, add-ons, basic inventory reports and tools. 

 

7. Prepares necessary documentation in order to complete specific related job functions.  Participates in routing trailers along with the Hostler.  Basic computer skills and ability to understand in-house computer system in order to locate product in transition and code date quantities. Understands code date and product rotation, “FIFO”, inventory counts, etc. 

 

8. Ability to perform as supervisor in supervisors absence, which includes basic understanding of Company Employee Handbook/Policy and Procedures. Must have the ability to effectively communicate to others, make sound decisions, treat others fairly and have effective listening skills.  Assist and support supervisor on developing and implementing projects or any other task as assigned by supervisor.

 

9. Must promote a positive and supportive work environment through team oriented concepts, actively demonstrating this behavior.  Attend all required meetings as well as all training (safety, compliance, technical or company directed meetings) as requested by supervisor.  Will participate and assist in Quarterly Inventories as requested by Supervisor.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required of this Position:

Licensed fork lift operator with a minimum of six months of safe operation of material handling equipment.  Able to perform accurate visual inspections and repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds. Possess reading and basic math skills.  Physically capable of standing, walking and twisting while carrying 50 pound objects. HS Diploma or equivalent required.
