We are currently seeking a self-motivated Warehouse Supervisor to fill a position that will be based in our Val D’Or, Quebec Distribution Center. This position is a full-time role and hours of work will be 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday.

Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):
The Val d’Or Warehouse Team Lead will oversee the operation of all shipments of goods to and from suppliers and customers. Primary focus will be servicing Boart longyear Drilling Services and 3rd party customers in Quebec. The incumbent will be expected to oversee various warehouse activities including training, inventory cycle counts, warehouse safety, KPI metrics, and other activities required to run the business. The incumbent will report directly to the Canada Distribution Manager.
The incumbent will conduct daily staff meetings, contribute to development of standard local processes, build key metrics and monitor / intervene as appropriate, report out and provide technical and analytical support to the Regional Supply Chain and Operational Leaders. This role will also work closely with the local DS Materials Manager and Customer Service teams to solicit feedback on performance and provide customer support.
The incumbent will also be expected to supervise a number of warehouse clerks based in Val d’Or. Providing direction and leadership will be a key attribute of this role.
Key measurements of success include: On time receiving and shipping, Warehouse safety, Inspections, and Training and Personnel Development.
Performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, materials, supplies, equipment, mail and messenger services. Prepares and packs goods for shipment, load and unload carriers. Unpacks and counts goods received. Routes materials to inspection, stores or other destinations. Maintains necessary files and documentation. May load shipment/inventory. Utilizes small hand tools and operate material handling equipment. Performs pick-up and delivery of mail and packages at various locations. Provides messenger/courier service for messages, documents, packages, goods, etc. Sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail, including using a scale to determine appropriate postage. Records postage charges for assignment to department accounts. May operate company vehicle to pick up and deliver materials at various local destinations.Ability to operate a forklift (sit down and reach)Perform Cycle counts on stocked inventory.Perform Monthly safety site inspections and report findings to the warehouse manager.Conduct investigations on inventory discrepancies.Order shipping materials such as Crates, Boxes, skids, and other related shipping supplies from other Boart entities as required.Complete 5S in warehouse daily.Process improvements. Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to operational efficiencies. Daily KPI monitoring.Warehouse InspectionsJob Requirements:Candidate must be fluent in both official languages (French and English)Computer skills (Data Entry - numeric and alpha)Experience with Oracle or other related inventory management systems.Ability to work under minimal or no supervision.Ability to work in a team environmentAbility to work in accordance with all safety policies and proceduresGood communication skillsOther general duties as assignedThis position requires ongoing physical demands including heavy lifting, bending, walking, standing.Position Qualifications:Fluent in both official languages (French and English) capable of meeting the labour demands of the position.Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to perform all job-related tasks.Previous related experience to drilling services is an asset.Exposure to different drilling environments and techniques is preferred.Great team player with the ability to take direction constructively.Education and Experience:Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent.3+ years of previous relevant experience to warehouse services3+ years of experience in a supervisor positionCandidate must be fluent in both official languages (French and English)Reporting Relationship
