Warehouse Leader

The Warehouse Lead’s primary responsibility is supporting the DC Supervisor by overseeing and participating in the shipping, receiving, picking, packing, moving, and storing of Warehouse inventory.  This individual may be responsible for records, selected reports, or serve as lead over one or more assigned areas of the Warehouse. This position works closely with the department on activities relating to, but not limited to open orders, material handling, cycle counting, repacking, housekeeping, and training new employees. You must have the ability to problem-solving skills, comply with all relevant safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

To ensure your success you need the ability to follow instructions and operate a forklift or other material handling equipment.  

Major Responsibilities:

Motivates the team and ensures that work is assigned and openly communicates with team members.Delegates tasks and removes obstacles and addresses or escalates issues. This includes:Scheduling for pickingScheduling for packingCommunicating priorities for shiftsOrdering suppliesOversees small pack area workflow; ensuring product is picked and that processing is on track; allocates resources as needed.Works with supervisors and management team to ensure that goals and deadlines are met in a timely manner.Processes continuous dock flow including container, cross dock, LTL shipments, returns and stocking.Uses a RF scanner and/or computer to enter records and record data.Marks materials with identifying information. Drives forklift (reach truck, Order Picker, Turret Truck, Pallet Jack, Sit Down, etc.) to Pick/Pack and transport items.Prepares parcels for shipping.   Stage Pallets.Performs cycle countsLoads and unloads vehicles.

Required Education / Experience / Skills:

High School Diploma or GEDMinimum of 2-year experience driver ForkliftMinimum 3 years' work experience in a production or warehouse environmentSuperior Communication SkillsTeam Oriented; Coach; Provides LeadershipAttention to DetailStrong critical reasoning skills with the ability to identify and solve problemsStrong Math Skills (Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide, Fractions, Decimals)Proficient in basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work with limited SupervisionAbility to lift 50lbs.

Language:  English (Spanish/English) a plus

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

This position is done in a Warehouse environment typically indoors but may require access to outdoors for work at times.  This position requires the ability to drive a forklift: Reach Truck, Order Picker and/or Turret Truck.  This position requires the ability to work at heights of 25 feet or more secured by a harness.  The position requires a person to be able to frequently walk, stand, bend and twist; see, hear, and talk; use fingers and hands, handle or feel controls or product; use hands and arms to reach, hold and carry product.  Frequently lifting/moving up to 35 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. is required.  This position also requires a person to handle different temperatures as the Warehouse is hot in the summer and cooler in the winter.  This position may also require a person to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours.
