Our client, a specialty food manufacturer known for producing high-quality meats and sausages, is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their team in Hayward, CA. This critical role involves maintaining and repairing equipment and facility systems to ensure smooth operations in a USDA-regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment, utilities, and facility systemsDiagnose mechanical and electrical issues, including PLCs, HVAC, and refrigeration systemsManage service vendors and support compliance with food safety and OSHA regulationsMaintain accurate maintenance records and documentationEnsure adherence to lockout/tagout and other safety proceduresUtilize hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and CMMS (if applicable)Respond to emergency repairs and prioritize tasks effectivelySupport plant operations by ensuring minimal equipment downtime

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or degree in industrial maintenance preferredMinimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting (USDA-regulated food production highly preferred)Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skillsFamiliar with PLCs, HVAC, hydraulics, and refrigeration systemsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills

Pay & Schedule:

Pay: $23.00 – $25.00 per hourSchedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
