Warehouse Manager – Inventory Control - Smyrna, GA
The opportunity:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Manager with a strong background in manufacturing. The successful candidate will manage personnel performing shipping, receiving, inventory, and parts kitting functions. Includes performing physical inventory controls while maintaining the ERP system, shipping domestic and international spare parts orders, receiving and processing purchased parts deliveries, and kitting inventory and purchased parts into work orders for machine assembly crews.

Inventory Control:Develop and implement inventory control procedures and policies.Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels to support production schedules and customer demand.Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.Implement and maintain inventory management systems and software.Train and supervise inventory control staff, ensuring adherence to established procedures and best practices.Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions in inventory management.Shipping and Receiving:Lead personnel shipping spare parts orders, including small package and freight shipments.Ensure inventory is kitted correctly for assembly work orders.Supervise personnel responsible for receiving and organizing parts from vendors.Coordinate machine shipping with manufacturing.Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements related to inventory control, shipping and receiving.
Responsibilities:
Lead Safety efforts to ensure all team members work safely and are focused on risk assessment to prevent near misses, PLCE, and injuries.Manage the Spare parts order fulfilment processes.Ensure shipping process are running smoothly and effectivelyCollaborate with purchasing, service, and other team members to optimize deliveriesManage machine shipment projects for both domestic and international transits.Develop and coordinate shipping schedules for timely, efficient, and cost-effective transitsDocument all shipment processes to ensure compliance with relevant corporate standardsDevelop and document standard processes for machine shipments with goal of training additional team members in machine shipmentsAssist other Westrock businesses in international shipment by being subject matter expertDirect receiving of incoming parts.Minimize part dwell in receivingEnsure proper organization and staging of parts for efficient inventory or kitting activities Lead kitting team.Ensure 100% on time kittingCommunicate with production managers to provide accurate kit readiness information to ensure machine build schedules can be managed properly Manage inventory team.Improve inventory accuracy and meet corporate inventory standardsOversee periodic cycle counts to provide accurate inventory levelsCollaborate with procurement to achieve inventory levels for adequate parts availabilityWhat you need to succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory control, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, practices, and systems.Experience with logistics, shipping and receiving. Exposure to international shipping preferred.Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to lead and motivate a team.Ability to communicate the broader scope when require
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certification in inventory management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP).Experience with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
