Job purpose

 

The Warehouse Operations Manager plans, directs and controls warehouse scheduling, staffing, allocation, and communication functions to effect economical utilization of warehouse operations team and facility. The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for all facets of warehouse operations including training and execution per customer requirements, compliance, and auditing performance, as well as building and maintaining customer relationships.  

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

Submits recommendations for development of and compliance with transportation policies, procedures and programs Recruits, orients and monitors progression of new and existing warehouse employees Responsible for warehouse performance, including training, discipline, team building and termination Enforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and government regulations Maintains operation and maintenance of facility, equipment and communication systems Warehouse Leads, warehouse staff, and office staff will report directly to Warehouse Operations Manager Finalization of warehouse payroll and driver settlements as well as related human resource driven issues. Finalization of customer invoicing Management and auditing of customer claims All reporting per customer requirements Communication and problem solving for corporate and end of the line customers Will assist Driver Operations Manager as needed or in time of absence Enforces requirements in regard to facility compliance to meet customer standards

 

Qualifications

 

Should have the ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Must have strong PC skills, written and communication skills, and customer service skills Must know DOT laws and violations, and OSHA requirements Must be flexible in hours.   Six Sigma endorsement a plus.

 

Education:  High School Diploma or GED required

 

Experience- Prefer 3 years+ experience with managing warehouse or dock facilities
