Warehouse Operative

Job Summary

Applications are invited from suitably qualified employees for the role of Warehouse Operative to join our Warehouse Team on Afternoon Shift, located in Dandenong South. This is a fixed term contract for 1 year.
Reporting to the Team Leader this role requires you to meet daily outputs, maintain a high level of quality while operating in a safe environment.
We are seeking an experienced individual to liaise with management teams and complete daily operations of a lean manufacturing production plant to ensure the company's safety, quality, production and efficiency objectives are met consistently. We are looking for a highly skilled, enthusiastic and dedicated candidate who has knowledge of IFF’s systems and processes, with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Able to competently work from verbal instructions and written instructions/procedures.
• Able to work well in a team-based work environment.
• Responsible for the quality and accuracy of their actions and work.
• Responsible for implementing all safety and quality procedures and having a solid understanding of the relevant procedures and their implications.
• Able to interpret and action both written and oral instructions. Possess sound interpersonal, communication and numeracy skills.
• Possess, demonstrate and apply excellent forklift operation skills.
• Operation of all appropriate materials handling equipment including equipment requiring a license
• Use of hand tools and equipment related to duties VDU operation (including data input).
• Use of the automated warehousing system (bar coding).
• Other tasks as directed from time to time by the within the employees training and general capabilities.
 

Skills and experience
To be successful in this role:
• Minimum 12 months experience in food/ingredient or similar warehouse operations
• Highly developed communication and organisational skills
• Current Victorian forklift licence
• A strong safety orientation
• Exposure to performance management
• Demonstrated practical experience and a thorough understanding of GMP and HACCP highly regarded
• Proficient use of SAP or similar system and Microsoft Office applications highly regarded
• Experience with Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement and/or Lean Manufacturing techniques also highly regarded
