As a Warehouse Operator, you will:
Under minimal supervision and according to prescribed procedures performs a variety of duties to receive, distribute, assemble, store, and ship raw materials, intermediate products, finished goods, and other supplies in warehouses, vaults or other locations as directed. Will perform materials receipt, disbursement and related activities as directed. Various warehouse duties will be required in addition to handling and supplying approved material for production use.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
+ Receive and ship all material for Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. site utilizing SAP and eMarketplace for Raw Materials, Finished Goods, and other items. Updates delivery schedules as required.
+ Coordinates appropriate shipping companies; completes required documentation and ensures shipment in accordance with regulatory and company guidelines.
+ Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and convey materials and items to designated areas. Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping area.
+ Opens bales, crates, and other containers and marks materials with identifying information and records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
+ Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
+ Samples, labels, and properly stores raw materials when received in the warehouse.
+ Drives vehicles to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment. Delivers received packages across the entire site.
+ Maintains inventory of raw materials, performs cycle counts using SAP.
+ Assist others in filling out MSO for miscellaneous shipping items from the warehouse.
+ Perform daily tank farm readings and provide data for supervisor to order.
+ Samples, loads, and unloads hazardous waste and solvent tankers according to standard operating procedures.
+ Submits maintenance work orders as needed. Perform weekly completion of KANBAN checklist and order materials as required.
+ Reviews and red-lines existing procedures, instructions, and batch logs within the assigned area to ensure accuracy and recommend modifications.
+ Perform area safety inspections to identify safety hazards and report findings in accordance with company protocols.
+ Demonstrates adherence to safety procedures by monitoring personal and peer behaviors, work environment and housekeeping.
+ Continuously looks for ways to simplify or improve products, services, systems, and processes to achieve business goals, e.g., improve yield, cycle time, quality, and productivity.
+ Make a positive contribution through demonstration of ability to seek out assistance from coworkers as needed; to suggest ways to improve upon current operations practices and systems; and to learn new skills, procedures, and processes.
+ Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines including GMP, FDA, EPA, OSHA, RCRA and DEA. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
+ Assume responsibility for the environmental effects of work performed and for the identification and recording of environmental problems as they arise.
+ Follow all applicable aspects of the site Environmental Management System as it pertains to normal job duties.
+ Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
+ Understands and responsibly performs duties with attention to quality, safety and environmental matters. Items include; wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, recognizing, reporting and appropriately responding to hazards in the work area (spills/accidents/near misses), maintaining proper housekeeping at all times, properly labeling and storing chemicals, plus all other relevant job requirements.
+ Participates in investigative teams and site group initiatives (e.g. PHAs, RTE, etc.).
+ Is available for other duties as assigned which includes housekeeping, checking eyewash stations, daily forklift inspections, and other tasks as they arise.
+ Must be available for overtime as assigned or on an emergency basis.
**Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
+ At least 2 years of warehouse, distribution, shipping or material movement experience is required.
+ Previous experience using various materials handling equipment, such as hoists, pallet jacks, etc. is required.
+ Previous forklift experience is highly preferred.
+ Experience with hazardous chemical handling is preferred - loading, unloading, sampling, documenting.
+ Experience working in a GMP environment is preferred.
+ Experience using computerized inventory management systems, i.e. SAP is highly preferred.
+ Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policies and procedures.
+ Write routine reports and correspondence.
+ Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization.
+ Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
+ Compute rate, ratio, percent, volume, area and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
+ Transfer units from Standard and Metric.
+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form.
+ Ability to solve practical problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
+ Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
+ Will be required to gain company-specific Forklift certification once on the job.
Other Requirements
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands; climb, stoop or bend; reach with hands and arms.
+ The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
+ The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with the use of a lifting device.
+ Must be able to qualify for respiratory protective equipment use.
+ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision.
+ While working in this job the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions that may include extreme hot or cold.
+ Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 pounds.
+ Must be able to work at heights up to 30 feet.
