The Warehouse Personnel II position will receive, ship, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment, and products and perform additional functions within Transcat establishments by performing the duties outlined below.
ResponsibilitiesThe employee must be able to perform the following warehouse operations error free with little direction/supervision:
PickingSeparate Pick Lists based on warehouse location, destination, priority, and order typePick items from warehouse according to the Pick List, including proper item numbers, quantities, and units of measureUnderstand and utilize FIFO (first in, first out) methodIdentify urgent orders and treat them with priorityStage picked orders in appropriate area for boxing or movement to labPacking/BoxingPack items using our boxing verification system to ensure all items and quantities match the Pick ListBox/palletize items with sufficient packaging material to prevent shifting and damage during transit and include printed Packing ListIdentify special handling notes/requests and comply appropriatelyAffix appropriate labels to boxStage boxes in appropriate area based on shipping method and destinationModify ship quantities in system, as neededEnter asset numbers on rental unitsShipping – Run ThroughBecome proficient with UPS WorldShip or current UPS software, FedEx software, and other 3rd party software/web pagesVerify box order label and Pick List matchConfirm UPS account number, customer name and address, shipping service, and billing type matchesChoose box size or enter box/pallet dimensions and freight classPrint label. Affix shipping label firmly to box/pallet and receipt label to Pick List and schedule pickup, when applicableAdd freight charges, tracking, and manually close orders, as neededUnderstand harmonized codes and how to look them upCreate customs paperwork for Canada and Puerto Rico shipmentsReceivingIdentify inbound packages and separate per destination (PO, lab, rental return, credit return, etc.)Check packaging for damageVerify package contents against packing slipProcess receipts in A+Properly label each product with barcode labelsIdentify discrepancies and fill out report when neededStock received items using FIFO methodInventoryCount inventory for daily cycle counts and annual physical inventoryRotate stock as neededPerform warehouse transfers (moves)Research and resolve discrepanciesSupport lab when they have defective stock (TCS)GeneralComplete training on operational proceduresInspect equipment to ensure it is in safe, working order. Strong commitment to customer satisfaction Good written and verbal communication skills Proven track record of excellent attention to detail Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness while completing work in a timely manner Ability to lift 50+ lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation Work well in a group and individuallyProven computer skillsAbility to use a forklift, pallet jack and complete required training 3+ years driving experience with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driver historyEducation and/or Experience
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) 2 or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
