The Safety Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing and/or administering environmental, fleet safety and occupational health and safety programs to ensure applicable legal compliance and create and maintain a safe and secure working environment. Also responsible for facility security and disaster preparedness planning and effective management of claims (e.g., property and casualty – workers’ compensation, auto liability and physical damage, and products/general liability). Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Responsibilities:In coordination with the OpCo leaders, administration of safety requirements at the Opco.Maintain organized and up-to-date Occupational Safety and Food Safety/QA programs and documents to successfully represent standard operating procedures and practices.Maintain and promote procedures to facilitate OpCo compliance with company standards & Federal rules & regulations.Site point of contact for inspections/audits conducted by regulatory agencies.Support Corporate direction pertaining to Environmental regulatory requirements and initiatives.Coordinate/Lead incident investigations by conducting root-cause analyses to determine areas of opportunity to prevent future incidents.Utilize internal systems to monitor and communicate loss trends to decrease and ultimately mitigate further loss, including tracking of risk recommendations.Monitor the completion of regulatory and best practice self-inspections and audits and follow-up as needed.Collaborate with personnel from internal departments, corporate roles, and external business partners.Ride - along with route drivers to ensure safety protocols are always being performed.Administers powered material handling equipment certifications and safe operating records (e.g., walkie, reach lift, order picker, forklift,).Oversight, coordination, and recordkeeping for annual First Aid/CPR/AED training.Other duties and projects as assigned.The ideal candidate should possess the following:Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong planning, organizational and follow up skills.Excellent people and process management skills.Strong planning, organizational & follow up skills.Broad based experience in safety or related field.
