This position is responsible for ensuring daily efficient, accurate, and timely warehouse operations. These operations include worker’s safety, receiving, storage, order picking, shipping, inventory management, and warehouse facility (space) management. This position will support a safe working environment in area of responsibility at all times. Correct or report unsafe acts or conditions through appropriate channels of resolution for the vinyl siding plant in Williamsport, MD.

Supervision– The Warehouse Supervisor is the primary managerial contact with the warehouse employees. This individual sets the tone of conduct regarding hourly employee’s attitude toward their work. The most important function is the proper scheduling and utilization of people to result in optimum productivity (e.g., sensible use of overtime). Regular feedback, including discipline and documentation where appropriate, of individual and group performance is also essential to this position. Administration- The warehouse supervisor is the tactical administrator of the warehouse facility. This work includes organizing, scheduling, and dispatching daily work assignments, staging space, and dock facilities to maximize efficient material flow. Planning-The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for balancing the resources of warehouse space, equipment and time with customer demand. This short to medium term planning includes pick location and storage zone profiling, yard management and identification of equipment and labor requirements in advance of their actual need. Continuous Improvement-The Warehouse Supervisor serves an essential role in the continuous improvement efforts of the warehouse. Key responsibilities include serving on and leading employee project teams within the plant and at times, with sister plants, education and training efforts to upgrade personal skills along with those of the warehouse employees. Areas of process improvement opportunity include shipment accuracy, warehouse damage, and picking efficiency. Inventory Management-The Warehouse Supervisor is the operational “owner” of the plants finished goods inventory investment. It is his or her responsibility to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all inventory balances and data records. This is accomplished by the training and counseling of employees when necessary to properly record inventory transactions. It also includes administration of the cycle count program and investigating discrepancies and errors. Adherence to Safety - Always support a safe working environment in the areas of responsibility. Correct or report unsafe acts or condition through appropriate channels of resolution. Perform safety audits, accident investigations, complete required paperwork and perform necessary follow-up as required.
