Warehouse Supervisor
Business Unit Overview 8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm. Responsibilities Position Summary: The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for coordinating with the Warehouse Manager the daily activities of the warehouse department. They coordinate and direct warehouse operations and personnel to ensure that quality work is performed in a safe, productive and efficient manner. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for maintaining and fostering a positive and cooperative relationship with corresponding leadership teams. Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for scheduling daily and weekly assignments for the warehouse team; leverages and administers policies, programs, and procedures to maximize output while minimizing labor costs Responsible for training warehouse personnel on safe, efficient, and accurate warehouse shipping and receiving operations Oversee the utilization of space throughout the warehouse for maximum efficiency. Maintain first in first out product rotation. Proactively anticipate warehouse needs, notifying the Warehouse Manager when production is affected Proactively monitors and measures warehouse department throughput and quality metrics daily; responsible for coaching, counseling, and managing employees via timely feedback and development. Establish and execute processes to ensure accuracy of all inbound items received Maintain communication with the department managers and leads on warehouse shipping priorities and resource needs Assists Warehouse Manager in annual development of department operating budget Assists in improving inventory integrity, troubleshoot areas of concern and lead team to adjust through established cycle counting process Partners with Health & Safety function to advance warehouse department safety programs and improve employee safety in the workplace. Serve as the on-site safety representative during emergency situations and when manager is offsite. Responsible for investigating and reporting safety incidents and identifying corrective actions to address safety findings Leverage, 5S and lean methodologies to drive continuous improvement in warehouse processes, positively impacting the areas of quality, productivity, and sanitation Partner with company leadership to proactively identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities in the areas of: safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation Attends weekly Continuous Improvement meetings Other duties, as assigned Education and Experience Required: HS Diploma or GED Equivalent from an accredited institution 1+ years team or project leadership experience 3+ years manufacturing experience Previous experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and extra hours, as needed Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills: 3+ years supervisory experience Previous experience operating warehouse equipment, and successful completion of a forklift training program Associates degree in supply chain, maintenance, manufacturing, or related field Previous experience with implementing behavior-based safety programs Effective written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills Strategic planning skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Physical Requirements: Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation: Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment Must be able to work in crowded spaces for 4+ hours per shift Must be able to bend and crawl for 4+ hours per shift Much be able to crouch, kneel and stoop for 4+ hours per shift Must be able to climb ladders for 4+ hours per shift Must be able to sit, stand and walk for 6+ hours per shift Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull, perform fine manipulation, and feel for 6+ hours per shift Must be able to operate foot pedals for 4+ hours per shift Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, express and exchange written or spoken word, and distinguish objects and equipment visually
