Our client, a well-established leader in the fresh produce industry, is seeking a Port Supervisor to oversee operations at their facility in Oxnard, CA. This exempt position is responsible for supervising port, yard, and warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and adherence to operational standards. The ideal candidate is flexible, detail-oriented, and eager to take accountability for various processes in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Directly supervise a team of 6 employees, including warehouse coordinators and forklift drivers.Train and certify forklift drivers in compliance with OSHA standards.Train warehouse coordinators on processes and systems to ensure inventory integrity.Oversee forklift maintenance, including daily checklists, preventive measures, and battery upkeep.Monitor and maintain warehouse equipment, including truck restrainers and dock levelers.Assign resources effectively to cover operations across two warehouses.Implement process improvements to minimize driver waiting times and ensure efficient turnaround of goods.Transition liner appointments to the MCS appointment system for cold dock transloads and imports/exports.Ensure compliance with customer SOPs for transloads at the cold dock.Support fruit and equipment physical inventories as required.Maintain a safe, organized, and clean operation environment in the warehouse and CFS (Container Freight Station).Coordinate CBP inspections as needed.Collaborate with management and HR on documented incidents and disciplinary actions.

Requirements

Associate or bachelor’s degree (or relevant experience).Minimum 3 years of experience in port and/or yard operations.At least 2 years in a leadership role.Experience in an intermodal environment is preferred.Proficiency in Excel and Outlook, with the ability to quickly learn computer systems.Availability for extended schedules, weekends, and holiday work as required by business needs.

Pay & Schedule

Pay Range: $65,000 - $73,000 annually, based on experience.Schedule: Monday - Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (flexibility required for extended hours).
