The opportunity: 

The Warehouse Supervisor plays a pivotal role in the warehouse and operations within the industry, particularly focused on the management and oversight of shipping and receiving tasks. This supervision position is crucial for ensuring the effective and efficient movement of goods and materials, upholding inventory accuracy, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. The supervisor is responsible for coordinating the activities of the shipping and receiving staff, strategizing warehouse plans, and collaborating with other departments to meet company-wide objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

A Warehouse Supervisor oversees a wide range of duties to facilitate the seamless operation of a company's warehouse or distribution center. The core responsibilities include:

Managing and scheduling the work activities of shipping and receiving crews.Ensuring that shipments are processed promptly and stored correctly.Ensuring products are stocked correctly and inventory levels are maintained.Verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against invoices, orders, or other records.Implementing safety procedures and standards in handling of goods.Monitoring and controlling the status of inventory (WIP packaging, other consumables).Researching inventory discrepancies and making necessary corrections in timely manner. Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all inventories.Managing the inventory control functions (WMS) on site and off siteInitiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems.  Documenting and controlling aged & damaged product.

  

Tasks and Duties

The everyday tasks and duties of the Warehouse Supervisor include, but are not limited to:

Preparation of shipping documents and labeling packages for shipment.Inspecting loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.Monitoring inventory stocks and placing orders as required.Handling and resolving any issues or discrepancies related to shipping and receiving.Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the warehouse.Providing leadership, training, and support to the shipping and receiving team.Implementing cost-reduction initiatives in shipping and receiving processes.Coordinate and Integrate efforts across operational departments to enhance inventory accuracy.Regularly training site staff in proper inventory control techniques and practices.Facilitate small group meetingsWarehouse work as needed including loading out-bound trucks as well as offloading roll stock.

 

 

What you need to succeed:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or supply chain or related field experience 2 -5 -year experience in Warehouse Supervisor role, shipping, receiving, or inventory managementStrong computer skills; including Excel, Word, PowerPointProficient with Microsoft Office suite (Microsoft 365)Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication Willingness to call outside the organization with sense of urgency and assertivenessDemonstrated team management experienceStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate the broader scope when requireForklift Certified
