Position Summary:
Provides leadership in support of team quality, product distribution, receiving, and problem-solving issues while ensuring that customer expectations are met.
Warn Automotive is a fully committed team-based organization. The Warehouse Supervisor must be a leader and a coach, not a directive controller. Accountability for distribution/receiving team performance resides with the Warehouse Supervisor and must accomplish team objectives through team leadership and development.
Essential Job Functions Include:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, stocking, and shipping of finished goods. Provides necessary resources to enable team members to effectively meet customer requirements. Select, train, counsel and develop direct reports. Plans future capacity requirements. Produces reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Attend and support physical counts of inventory at warehouse locations. Support fiscal closing activities as assigned. Approves team timecards and PTO as necessary. Analyzes productivity of workforce and equipment for efficiency. Supervises the distribution/receiving schedule in collaboration with cost center, profit center and customer requirements. Supervises all phases of product distribution and traffic activities. Arrange adequate space requirements for the storage of products and develop changes in distribution techniques and practices. Creatively participates and leads continuous improvement activities. Develop and maintain a budget for the assigned team as required. Supervises team in a manner that supports company and business unit strategies. Extend Warn Automotive’s strategic vision to team members. Set and enforce operating standards, including stringent controls to improve inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and year-end inventory. Maintains accurate records and documentation for history and audit purposes. Maintains updated procedures in support of Business System requirements. Provides support in developing and implementing company and business unit strategies. Interacts with customers to provide excellent customer service. Performs other related duties as assigned by management team. Recruits and develop team members who can provide high levels of performance. Leads team in a manner that supports a positive work environment for all team members. Develops, maintains, and delivers team member development and performance evaluations to provide personal growth and enhance team capabilities.Education and/or Experience:
Three or more year’s proven success in a supervisory and/or managerial role in a manufacturing environment. Prior leadership training or experience is required. Five or more years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of order management processes with Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) or similar software. Working knowledge of quality system requirements and good manufacturing practices. Strong oral and written communication skills commensurate with the job tasks and position necessary to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external customers while providing exceptional quality of work and outstanding customer service. Ability to present information in a manner designed to educate or inform other team members and customers in one-on-one or group interactions as directed. Ability to review, comprehend, interpret, process and evaluate effectively written work instructions and procedures written in English in conjunction with the performance of the essential functions and other assigned job duties.
