Meet business objectives for the department regarding safety, quality productivity, responsiveness, and more. Support hourly employees with their needs and concerns, address performance behaviors, and use problem-solving processes to engage the workforce. Improve layouts and efficiency through the Workplace Organization process, ensure accurate payroll data processing, document problem-solving activities, and conduct daily meetings to discuss business performance. Perform weekly safety observations and plan daily workloads to optimize shift performance while observing contractual requirements and enforcing shop rules.
ResponsibilitiesMeet business objectives for safety, quality productivity, and responsiveness.Support hourly employees with their needs and concerns.Address performance behaviors, commend positives, and discipline negatives.Use Quality Network problem-solving process to address opportunities.Apply Workplace Organization process to improve layouts and efficiency.Perform daily Timekeeping System updates for accurate payroll processing.Document problem-solving activities using the A-3 reporting format.Conduct daily huddle-up meetings to communicate business performance.Perform and document weekly safety observation tours of the department.Plan daily workloads in advance to optimize shift performance.Support colleagues in optimizing shift performance.Observe contractual requirements (National & Local).Enforce shop rules.Perform daily SOP audit checks.Advance skills through the Individual Development Plan process.Keep General Supervisor Shop Committee informed of pending activities.Essential SkillsSupervision and management skills.Direct supervision of employees.Ability to lead, motivate others, and perform progressive discipline.Experience in UAW or Union Leadership.Knowledge of shipping and receiving, warehouse management, and operations.Experience in automotive manufacturing and parts distribution.Familiarity with safety procedures and Kronos.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong people skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse group of employees.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Problem-solving skills and maintaining performance under challenges.Leadership and team management experience in a Union environment, preferably UAW.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Currently a 3 shift operation with shifts from 7am-3pm, 3:30pm-11:30pm, and 11pm-7am. Supervisors are required to be 30 minutes early for pre-shift meetings, and overtime is common. The typical work week is Monday to Friday with 9-hour shifts, and Saturdays are mandatory with 9-hour shifts. Sundays are voluntary for UAW team members, but supervisors may be required to work depending on business needs. The facility operates as a parts processing center for the GM Dealership network, involving the packing and shipping of parts. The environment includes multiple break rooms, an open-concept supervision room with new equipment, and a business casual dress code with required PPE on the plant floor.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
