The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily warehouse operations ensuring efficient workflow inventory accuracy and adherence to company policies This role includes supervising warehouse staff monitoring stock levels overseeing the receiving and dispatching of goods and ensuring a safe and organized warehouse environment The Warehouse Supervisor plays a key role in supporting the Warehouse Manager and ensuring that the Warehouse Administrator and other staff meet performance objectives
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Team Management
Supervise and lead warehouse staff ensuring productivity adherence to processes and high standards of work
Provide training coaching and guidance to warehouse employees to improve efficiency and accuracy
Assign and oversee daily tasks ensuring work is completed on time and correctly
Monitor staff compliance with health and safety policies ensuring PPE and safety measures are followed
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees
Inventory Management & Stock Control
Oversee and maintain accurate stock records ensuring the warehouse operates efficiently
Supervise regular stock counts cycle counts and audits to identify and correct discrepancies
Ensure that stock is correctly stored and organized for easy retrieval and minimal damage
Work closely with the Warehouse Administrator to track shipments process stock movements and resolve discrepancies
Order Fulfillment & Distribution
Ensure orders are processed accurately and dispatched on time according to company and customer requirements
Coordinate with the planning department to ensure smooth stock distribution to retail stores
Monitor stock distribution for promotions ensuring deadlines are met
Address and resolve delays in shipments working closely with suppliers and logistics teams
Warehouse Operations & Process Improvement
Develop and implement warehouse processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors
Monitor the workflow of the warehouse team to ensure operations run smoothly
Work with the Warehouse Manager to optimize warehouse layout storage solutions and picking systems
Ensure all warehouse documentation including invoices and stock movement records is correctly processed
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure compliance with company policies health & safety regulations and inventory control procedures
Report on stock levels damages shortages and operational issues to the Warehouse Manager
Investigate and resolve any stock discrepancies between the warehouse and retail stores
Assist in claims processes for damaged or returned stock liaising with suppliers when necessary
Requirements & Key Competencies
Matric Grade 12 required a diploma or certification in warehouse management logistics or supply chain would be advantageous
5 years of warehouse experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
Experience in a retail warehouse & distribution environment is highly advantageous
Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
Excellent inventory management and stock control knowledge
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems WMS
Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fastpaced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High level of attention to detail and organizational skills
Must have a sense of urgency be adaptable and have a proactive approach to work
Physically fit with the ability to work on the warehouse floor for most of the shift
