POSITION SUMMARY:
The shipping/warehouse lead is responsible for ensuring that the shipping department is being maintained and product is being processed according to customer specifications. The shipping lead is responsible for ensuring that shipping associates maintain a clean, neat and orderly warehouse and that all forklifts are being properly maintained.
KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the shipping manager with regard to the scheduling of shipping associatesOversee the proper processing of product packaging and storageKnowledge of proper loading procedures and ability to assist when neededMaintain communication with shipping manager and production supervisors
MANAGERIAL / SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES
Directly supervises / manages 2 – 4 associates in the shipping department.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include helping to plan, assign and direct the work force. Ensure that all orders are billed and shipped correctly.Will notify Shipping Manager of any personnel problems.Will give feedback to department associates concerning their responsibilities to safety and quality. QualificationsREQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Previous experience in the shipping/warehouse departmentTrained and certified fork lift operatorExcellent attendance
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Ability to schedule department associates for efficient operationKnowledge of proper packaging and placement in warehouse
KEY BEHAVIORAL TRAITS FOR SUCCESS
