Use robust problem-solving methods to determine root causes for deviations and work to solutions
Support the development of the continuous improvement activities (VPS) and develop a culture to meet desired organizational performance targets
What you will do
Responsibilities
Responsible for the warehouse for the Charlotte Remanufacturing Site
Accountable for team performance in terms of SQDCEP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environment, People)
Responsible for improving safety and ergonomics
Document and report all safety accidents and near misses using designated system. Support analysis and corrective actions as requested.
Support operations using VPS mindset and tools (5S, problem solving, standardized work)
Lead meetings with team reporting on business and site-specific performance and areas for improvement.
Ensure standard operating procedures are in place and being followed. Support development or improvement of procedures as needed.
Document any non-conformance to procedures or work rules and present to manager
Assist with root cause analysis and help to implement a continual improvement mindset
Assist management in monitoring team’s performance to ensure daily goals are met
Support overall timekeeping and attendance tracking of the team
Replace team members when they are absent or as needed
Assist manager motivating team members to improve performance
Assist team members when issues arise (quality, productivity, etc.) leading improvement teams as needed.
Ensure adherence to environmental policies and procedures
Assist manager with the identification of training needs for current team members
Facilitate the training of new team members and temporary employees
Empower teams through the approval and implementation of ideas using the idea generation process
Support managers to develop plans that contribute to the overall logistic and plant improvement roadmap
All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager
Promotes the Volvo Group values and culture
Education and Experience
Minimum 2 to 5 years relevant experience in a similar function in distribution/manufacturing or logistics required
Associates Degree (preferred)
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Knowledge in VPS through formal training preferred
Physical Demands
Regularly required to reach with arms and hands
Be able to lift up to 50lbs on a frequent basis
Required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle tools/controls
Required to sit, climb, balance and crouch.
