Warehouse Technician

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Site Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel – and our customers – to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Shift: Monday – Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Location: San Diego, CA

Pay: $22/hr. - $23/hr.

What we’re looking for 

Education: High School Diploma is required  

Experience: Minimum 1 year of material handling/shipping/receiving experience is required   

Must possess a valid driver’s license

Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred

How you will thrive and create an impact 

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:

Warehouse Operations: Perform routine warehouse tasks at the customer site with minimal to moderate supervision, including loading and unloading trucks, receiving and processing incoming packages, and preparing items for shipment.

Shipping and Delivery: Handle the shipping of materials and products, ensuring that all items are correctly packed, labeled, and documented. Make deliveries to client sites 2-3 times a day, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. (Must possess a valid driver’s license)

Data Documentation: Accurately document all completed tasks and activities, maintaining up-to-date records of inventory, shipments, and deliveries. Use scanners and computers to track packages, update inventory records, and process orders as necessary.

Collaboration:Work effectively and cooperatively with team members, vendors, carriers, and clients to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of tasks. Foster positive working relationships with all stakeholders.

Attention to Detail: Demonstrate a high level of self-motivation, attention to detail, and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in all aspects of warehouse operations, from inventory management to shipping and receiving.

Time Management: Utilize proven time management skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met and operations run smoothly throughout the day.

Administrative Support: Perform administrative and general office duties as needed, including data entry, filing, and other tasks that support the efficient running of warehouse operations.

Self-Orientation: Be proactive, self-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision, while maintaining a strong focus on quality and efficiency in all tasks.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$40,000.00 - $66,000.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
