Job Title: Warehouse Worker
Job Description

Working in a large industrial hardware distribution center. General warehouse duties include inventory control, shipping, receiving, order filling, and stocking. Responsibilities involve the use of RF scan guns, headsets, forklifts, and other equipment across several departments and shifts.

ResponsibilitiesSHIPPING: Start times at 8AM, 10AM. This physical department involves building pallets and loading trucks. Sort, scan, check merchandise, and ensure the product is loaded onto the proper pallet/truck for delivery. Take totes off the conveyor, scan, build pallets, stack items safely, wrap pallets, and load onto the truck with a pallet jack. Load larger items such as ladders and pipes. Operate handheld scanner and get certified in electric power jack and forklift. Frequently lift and carry 0-70lbs, occasionally over 70lbs, with significant twisting, bending, squatting, and reaching.RECEIVING: Start times at 3AM, 6AM. Unload incoming trucks and rebuild pallets. Scan and receive inbound merchandise, unload containers by forklift, pallet jack, or by hand. Break down pallets, sort items by department, re-palletize, wrap, and prepare them for transport within the distribution center. Verify pallet count and receiving labels. Deliver scanned merchandise to appropriate staging areas. Constantly lift and carry 20-50lbs, occasionally over 50lbs, with constant bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.STOCKING: Start times at 3:00AM, 4:50AM, 8AM, or 10AM. Stock merchandise from receiving onto shelves. Move merchandise throughout the distribution center. Place products on appropriate shelves and stock inbound merchandise in designated locations. Use power equipment (reach truck) for heavier items and manually unpack smaller items in the Mod area. Operate handheld scanner. Frequently lift and carry 20-50lbs, occasionally over 50lbs, with frequent bending and reaching, occasional twisting, crawling, climbing, and kneeling.REPACK ORDER FILLERS: Start time at 5AM. Pick smaller items and fill totes. Use a headset for directions in a fast-paced environment, with timed picking (24 seconds per item). Fill boxes/totes with products and place them on a conveyor belt for shipping. Label and scan merchandise. Frequently lift 0-50lbs, occasionally carry 20-50lbs, with frequent bending, twisting, climbing.FULL CASE ORDER FILLERS: Start time at 5AM. Pick heavier merchandise and larger items for orders. Label each carton for identification, drive a stock picker, reach truck, or forklift with a trailer attached. Manually pull cases off shelves and place them on the trailer bed. Unload items at a conveyor and label products. Constantly lift and carry 50-60lbs, with constant bending, twisting, stooping, and reaching, occasional climbing.INVENTORY CONTROL: Start time at 4:45AM. Audit inventory, fill out reports, and perform data entry. Audit daily inventory reports, perform physical audits, investigate and resolve inventory inaccuracies, prepare shipments for return to vendors, communicate with vendors and buyers, provide customer service, and prepare defective merchandise for disposition. Excellent data entry and computer skills required. Constantly lift and carry under 20lbs, occasionally 20-50lbs, with frequent bending and squatting, occasional twisting, kneeling, crawling, and climbing.Essential SkillsExperience with shipping and receiving, order picking, RF scanner, and order pulling.Power equipment/Forklift/Reach truck/Order picker experience is a huge plus.Prior warehouse experience preferred but not required.Experience in fast-paced jobs or heavy labor jobs, repack, stocking, material handling, inventory, forklift, packing, labeling, loading.Additional Skills & QualificationsExcellent data entry and computer skills.Experience with Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets.Good math and reading skills.Ability to interact with other departments and management.Prior experience with power equipment/forklift and scan gun preferred.Why Work Here?

Work in the world's largest independent hardware distributor's large, clean, and safety-oriented warehouse with over 150 employees and multiple shifts. The environment is physical, fast-paced, and chaotic, with multiple departments and people moving around constantly. The job involves significant physical activity, including lifting, bending, squatting, and stooping throughout the day. Employees must pass an OccMed Physical at the time of conversion.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00
