Warranty Quality Engineer
Warranty Quality Engineer Westminster Apply Description This position will ensure the proper administration of warranty returns, working closely with the Quality Supervisor, Warranty Coordinator and Warranty Technician. This role will manage the collection of data associated with all warranty returns, perform root cause analysis and corrective actions, ensuring containment on anything currently in work. Write AS9100 processes and work instructions for the warranty return process. Develops new equipment configurations, processes, and procedures to improve the warranty returns processes. Accountable to monitor and resolve/report Corrective Action Requests and Customer Quality Notifications. Responsibilities will include and are not limited to the following: · Design and maintain system for tracking and documenting warranty returns. · Review warranty data to find trends that need to be addressed. · Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Inspectors to resolve issues quickly. · Ensure non-conforming material is contained immediately. · Work with the Warranty Technician to provide technical oversight and directions as required, to assist in troubleshooting or root cause analysis on difficult problems. · Receive and document customer quality notifications (QN). Keep customer updated on QN resolution. · Contain materials that are in production, shipping, or other and perform root-cause analysis to determine why customer had a QN. · Propose CAR's from customer escapes, audit findings, internal non-conformances, supplier non-conformances and known process failures. · Ensure timely resolution of supplier corrective actions. · Accountable to approve suppliers self-surveys, perform on-site supplier audits, and complete internal audits. Accountable to integrate continuous improvement into the department by seeking to improve processes and procedures. Requirements Requirements: + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, business operations or similar. + Intermediate computer literacy with ERP program, Outlook, Word, Excel + Read and write in English. + Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, and multitasking skills required. + Ability to pass initial and random FAA Drug/Alcohol screening requirements. + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing Processes. + Experience in aviation or related products. + AS9100 auditor certification required or to obtain certification upon hire. + Strong knowledge of AS9100 requirements. + Knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action; including 8D, 5Y, fishbone tools. + FAA Part 21 quality system experience. Salary Description $70,000-$90,000
