WASH Programming
Advising the WASH team in water, sanitation and hygiene promotion programming, in broad coordination with other sectorsEnsuring quality and integrity of implementation, including adherence to technical guidelines, administrative systems, and established deadlinesIdentifying and addressing staff capacity building opportunitiesEvaluating the relevance and appropriateness of current and future programming in relation to water, sanitation and hygiene promotion in the local contextAdvising on mainstreaming gender, protection, and DRR in project and program activitiesAssisting in the preparation of the WASH proposalsConducting inquiries to evaluate the costs for a 1-year WASH projectPreparing the activity plan and monitoring and evaluation system for the proposalAnalyzing the baseline study data to determine the underlining needs of the beneficiariesUndertaking staff capacity building in the use of mapping toolsContributing to contingency planning for possible WASH emergency response if requiredContributing to the preparation of internal and external reports for the NGO and donors, including expenditure plans and situation reports (SitReps)Representation
Representing the organization externallyCollaborating and coordinating with the government, NGOs, and UN agencies on WASH issues at district level with your supervisorParticipating in district and provincial level WASH meetings and other relevant humanitarian/recovery coordination meetingsEnsuring that all relevant stakeholders have information about the organization’s background, program, objectives, working areas, duration of programs and activities in the fieldPromoting and reinforcing relationships with district and provincial technical authoritiesEnsuring correct MOUs are in place with relevant district/province stakeholdersQualification and skills required:
Degree in Engineering, or other relevant trainingExperience dealing with sensitive topics and an appreciation for how these issues are dealt with in different cultural contextsTraining in gender issues would be an assetExperience in cross-cultural settings would be an assetPrior overseas experience would be an assetApplicant Types Accepted:
