The purpose of this position is to maintain operational functions of offal and wastewater systems. Load offal and feather trailers properly without mixing product. Maintain effluent compliance in accordance with the facility's wastewater permit.
Schedule: 2:00 PM - End of Shift, Monday - Friday with occasional Saturdays
BenefitsThis position has a target wage of $23.52 per hour, with negotiated increases, with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operate equipment to fulfill requirements of water and waste water operations Perform all work within safety guidelines established by local, state, and federal agencies as well as company policies Collect water and waste water samples in accordance with quality assurance programs and applicable environmental regulations Test samples and adjust equipment and chemical flow rate as required to ensure water quality is in compliance Diagnose equipment failures Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment as well as routine repairs as necessary Compile and maintain relative records as required Maintain effluent compliance Load offal and feather trailers properly Maintain operations of system equipment during shift Maintain paperwork daily Adhere to all safety rules including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures and Process Safety Management related matters Make system adjustments as required Minimum Education High School diploma or GED preferred Experience Requirements 1 year experience in waste water preferred Strong reading, writing, math, and analytical skills are required Must have basic knowledge of wastewater operations Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another May need to access files, supplies, and equipment When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces Exposure to extreme temperatures (28-100 Degrees Fahrenheit) Humidity (0-100%) May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit Noise (50db. - 110db.) Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection as required May be exposed to dust, feathers, and all chemicals used in poultry processing facility Ability to stand for several hours Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs.), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly May need to climb ladders Walking/standing surface is wet and greasy Chemical exposure chlorinated water, caustic detergent cleaners, and lubricating oils Tools used are knives, scissors, clippers, sharpening steel, shovel, mechanic hand tools, and hand scoops Equipment that will be operated are a welder, cutting torch, grinder, industrial shop equipment, power jack, forklift, and truck/tractor Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the CompanyPerdue Farms, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
