Summary
The Wastewater Treatment Operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant provincial, state, and federal regulations. This role is critical in safeguarding public health and the environment through the proper handling of wastewater treatment processes.
Pay Rate: $20 - $25 DOE - 1st Shift (Willing to perform physical work outdoors with a safety mindset)
Waste Water Treatment experience a plus
Essential Responsibilities
Collects water and wastewater samples using proper procedures. Inspects and maintains sewage lift stations and related piping. Repairs and maintains PVC and HDPE exterior utility piping following best practices. Installs and maintains lift stations, piping, heat tracing, and insulation within the defined scope. Performs manual calculations of flow rates, pumping times, and chemical pump drawdowns as needed. Conducts routine laboratory process tests to optimize biological and other treatment processes. Records data on operational log sheets and spreadsheets, assisting in data interpretation for process adjustments. Operates, monitors, and inspects plant equipment, including pumps, motors, compressors, screens, cranes, membranes, and chemical pumps. Ensures process operations remain within required specifications. Analyzes process control data (SCADA) and lab results against performance standards, making necessary equipment adjustments and notifying supervisors of any system issues. Monitors and records unit process data using gauges, computer control systems, and other measurement tools. Prepares reports for internal and regulatory agencies, ensuring accessibility for stakeholders. Troubleshoots operational issues, including biological, mechanical, instrumentation, and PLC-related concerns. Stays updated on industry best practices, legislative changes, and procedural updates. Travels to remote locations as needed to perform assigned tasks. Maintains all required certifications and licenses, notifying the supervisor of any changes. Performs other duties as assigned.
