Job Title: Inspector
Job Description

The Inspector will be responsible for reviewing bids for completeness, ensuring contractor compliance, and evaluating various project aspects related to water and wastewater construction management. The role involves both office-based review and field inspections to ensure project execution aligns with proposed plans.

ResponsibilitiesReview bids for completeness.Ensure contractor's license and insurance are up to date.Evaluate proper execution plans.Analyze aerial photos of property to identify property lines and required pipe lengths.Identify potential penetration locations and any obstructions such as retaining walls, walkways, porches, sheds, and decks.Ensure bids cover restoration costs.Visit project sites to assess potential issues.Review cost proposals to ensure conformance with initial reviews.Report findings to DETS/DOEE.Inspect proper restoration work in the field.Provide DC Water with inspection reports documenting the work.Essential SkillsExperience in water and wastewater construction management.Proficiency in civil engineering principles.Experience with WSSC and sanitary sewer line installations.Knowledge of water treatment filtration and disinfection systems.Expertise in stormwater inspection and quality control.Proven project management skills.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings for underground utilities.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of construction-related experience in roadway or pipeline construction.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite at DC Water HQ and embedded with Arcadis. The role requires comfort in working closely with Arcadis' construction management staff. It offers a long-term opportunity to work on large-scale WSSC and DC Water projects, with the potential for stable, long-term construction management work over a 5-year program.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $43.26/hr.
