JOB PURPOSE/ FUNCTION

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing routine wastewater analysis for process control as directed by the Lead Operator.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs routine wastewater analysis for process control as directed by the Lead Operator such as: Chemical oxygen demand (COD)Analysis of BOD5Suspended and total solids, volatile solids, ammoniaTotal kjedahl nitrogen (TKN)pHConductivityProcess jar testingThe operations of the Atomic Absorption analysis equipment Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of process control techniques, maintenance procedures and safe practicesPrevious water or wastewater treatment experience

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent, and 5-7 years of formal training and experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
