PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Primarily responsible for ensuring quality control of biological waste water system through monitoring to ensure compliance with State EPD regulatory requirements. Performs preventative and routine maintenance on systems. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

                                    

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:                              

Under minimal supervision, monitor mechanical waste water system equipment such as pumps, motors, electrical components, etc; perform routine/ preventative maintenance such as adjusting belts, replacing belts, changing oil in pumps to ensure optimal working conditionMeasure and monitor waste water chemicals; report variances to appropriate personnelOperate pumps, dewatering equipment (tanker), compressors and chemical feed equipmentMaintain housekeeping tasks for work area tools, equipment, facilities and groundsWork in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulationsPerforms other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalentPass NOCTI Mechanical Level 1 required prior to applying for positionValid Driver’s License with demonstrated safe driving record requiredMust be willing to work towards GA Waste Water Level III license (attend training and take test)

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial/commercial wastewater treatment facility requiredMinimum 3 years’ maintenance experience in production environment requiredIntermediate math (add, subtract, multiply and divide) and computer skillsAbility to work unsupervised and self-motivateAbility to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hoursSound work ethic, honesty and moral character

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Follow departmental and company safety policies and programsMust wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Stand up to 8 hours.Exposure to wet and dusty environment.Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling
